Hmmm...

The restaurant tries very hard to come off as authentic 15th century Transylvanian, and does achieve this to some degree. I was impressed with the décor and furnishings inside the dining room and with the knowledge and service of the wait staff. The food, on the other hand, I was not so impressed... read more

This building is allegedly the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. I'll be honest. It's the only reason to eat here. Important note!!! If you go MAKE SURE to ask to see the painting of Vlad Dracul, who was the father of Vlad the Impaler. It is in a function room and is the highlight but I doubt they'll show you... More

Nice place but exactly the true information is given for tourists. They like to mislead people in Draculas fairy tale..

We spent two days in Sighisoara at the end of May. The restaurant is just few steps from the Sighisoara Main Tower at the old town entrance. The food is sufficiently good. The restaurant is full of ancient and typical furnitures and it looks like an old typical romanian house. We did not to book in advance because there were... More

This is a real tourist place--the eggplant salad which is called Dracula's eggplant was very tasty but the rest of the meal was mediocre. The service was also a bit rushed.

We entered the restaurant where supposedly Dracula was born. We were warned by the restaurant's manager that if we go to see the room where he was born, we may be scared and he will not reimburse the money. We didn't think it was anything sensational, plus the coffin with a guy inside didn't make an impression on the kids.... More

This was the one place I had in mind I was determined to visit whilst in town. Sadly the restaurant was packed and not a free table in sight. The wait staff were rude and totally ignored me. Eventually I asked a guy serving at the bar what the wait-time was for a table, and he informed me it would... More

Great atmosphere - family run restaurant on the site of where Vlad Tepes was born with interesting frescoe on restaurant ceiling. Be sure not to miss a visit to the rooms upstairs.

A bit cheesy and they tend to live off the Vlad Dracul/Dracula legend (for a small fee you can visit the room where Vlad was alleged to have been born) though some locals are none too happy with the sort of Hollywood-esque trappings that the tourists crave. Food wise not too bad though they try to hard to keep away... More
