As we entered I felt good about the look of the place but was soon disappointed. This restaurant caters to tour groups; the night we were there it was full of at least one big group. Not very intimate. It was a cold December evening and all the restaurant had for warmth was a single charcoal hand warmer as you entered.... More

A nice restaurant with an interesting local menu of well prepared food. Pleasant staff and a nice friendly atmosphere. We went back a second night as we had enjoyed it and doubted we would find anything better in Sapa.

To me, this unfortunately seemed like a local suburban Australian Chinese restaurant - which is probably why it's recommended to white people by most hotels and tour agencies. Think lacquered wood furniture and campy red lanterns. The staff are absolutely lovely though - all smiles and very helpful. The hot pot was unfortunately very bland though... try one of the... Lots of food. We ordered a hot pot for one and it was plenty of food for 2 people. They kept coming over and adding noodles and chicken. Not expensive at all.

The two other reviews I have done for Sa Pa for Oct. 2014 have been mildly negative because of the boring food. However the Red Doa House was the exception. We only had lunch here, on the recommendation of our excellent guide, much to our regret; we should have had our dinners here too. The food was tasty and imaginative,... More

We enjoyed delicious meals from various menu, especially deer was great. The interior and atmosphere were also good, though a little bit commercialized.

We had lunch here as part of our tour and had a set menu of multiple dishes. All were delicious.... we especially loved the sweet potato cakes. The drink prices were comparable to what we've seen in other restaurants.

"When you are in Sapa, you must eat at the Red Dao Restaurant" - our guide from Hanoi told us. So here we were at the Red Dao Restaurant for dinner on our first night in Sapa. The menu had a good variety of both local and western cuisine. Not wanting to crack our heads over what to order, we... More
