Description: The Waters Edge Restaurant is located between the two accommodation...
The Waters Edge Restaurant is located between the two accommodation buildings. Unlike many other eating places in the area it is lavishly furnished and as it is on the upper floor of the building with open sides the gentle breeze from the Arabian Sea keeps you cool when dining, although there are also numerous ceiling fans to do this should there be no breeze. During the day enjoy the open, uninterrupted view across the bay and beyond and in the evening relax and watch the lights of the fishing boats out at sea. The menu is varied and caters for all tastes - Indian, Chinese and European dishes are available, and all meals are freshly prepared when ordered. The chef will cook each meal according to your personal taste - let the waiter know when you place your order how strongly spiced you like your meals and our chef will cook the meal to cater for your own preference. Our advice if you are not used to eating spicy food is to allow a few days to let your body get used to Indian cuisine by starting off with mildly spiced dishes and gradually increase the spice content until you find the level of seasoning that you like. Sea food is obviously a speciality here and lobster, mussels, prawns, tiger prawns, calamari, snappers, tuna, butterfish and searfish are often available (depending on the day's catch of course). If you like you can personally select a fish from the fishermen's nets on the beach in the morning which Sanal and his team will be happy to prepare for your lunch or evening meal.

Delicious food

We had dinner twice in the upstairs restaurant and lunch one day on the waters edge (which is a great experience watching the waves crashing in whilst eating). The curries we had were all really delicious and some of the best we had experienced during our stay in Kerala.

We ordered a Mushroom pasta in white sauce. It didn't look fresh and we had just one spoon of pasta, paid 300/- for it and returned. It might have other food better, but our experience with Pasta made us skip it forever. Sitting arrangement is great though.

If staying in Samudra, good relaxed location for daytime or evening drinks / meal. Food quality a bit mixed - fresh grilled or sizzling fish / seafood was good though. Helpful in providing other services eg excursion trip info / arrangements & currency exchange

Sitting on the sea wall, eating by candlelight. The employees are looking for you all day and will ask you to come to their restaurant whenever they see you walking around. In the evening they set up tables on the sea wall. The food was good - lots of choices.

Great service and fabulous food for the farewell lunch for our friendly tour party.Attentive service , excellent food and really cheap drinks. What more do you want from a simple upstairs breezy beachside location on the coast on a hot day in Kerala.Loved the simple Lemon fish and the Tiger prawns in a spicy Keralan sauce. We will be back... More

With the few beach front restaurants in the area we have tried them all. The waters edge just does not measure up to the rest.

H..i if you stay here in this property then its a must you have gotta dine here. The only food that's good here is south indian food.. Dosa,Idly etc.. are tasty but one cannot travel to these places to have those ....since you have got better places for these authentic foods.
