Description: The Waters Edge Restaurant is located between the two accommodation...
The Waters Edge Restaurant is located between the two accommodation buildings. Unlike many other eating places in the area it is lavishly furnished and as it is on the upper floor of the building with open sides the gentle breeze from the Arabian Sea keeps you cool when dining, although there are also numerous ceiling fans to do this should there be no breeze. During the day enjoy the open, uninterrupted view across the bay and beyond and in the evening relax and watch the lights of the fishing boats out at sea. The menu is varied and caters for all tastes - Indian, Chinese and European dishes are available, and all meals are freshly prepared when ordered. The chef will cook each meal according to your personal taste - let the waiter know when you place your order how strongly spiced you like your meals and our chef will cook the meal to cater for your own preference. Our advice if you are not used to eating spicy food is to allow a few days to let your body get used to Indian cuisine by starting off with mildly spiced dishes and gradually increase the spice content until you find the level of seasoning that you like. Sea food is obviously a speciality here and lobster, mussels, prawns, tiger prawns, calamari, snappers, tuna, butterfish and searfish are often available (depending on the day's catch of course). If you like you can personally select a fish from the fishermen's nets on the beach in the morning which Sanal and his team will be happy to prepare for your lunch or evening meal.

amazing food , great view

We stayed at the hotel here, we eat here quite a few times. Didn't matter what food we ordered it was always amazing, couldn't fault it atall. We would eat on the wall facing the sea or stayed up on restaurant which also looked upon the sea!

The food was pleasant - fish tikka masala and grilled fish. This was one of the few place where we had leftovers. The food was OK, although we've had better. The food also has to be brought a long way from the kitchen to the seawall. This part of the seawall is more open so you don't get the feeling... More

Of all the restaurants we've eaten in the Blue Marlin we had this evening is by far the best meal we've eaten in any restaurant in Kovalam. The service was excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One too put on your list of restaurants to eat in.

Family trip to have dinner two days ago - were greeted cordially and were impressed by the setting - right on the beach with tables on the embankment wall. We took a moment to enjoy the setting and ordered fresh fish - white snapper (pollichathu). For catch of the day, they will prepare it however you like. We also got... More

The service and value of The Waters Edge was excellent, the food is good but compared to some of the other local restaurants is doesn't quite match up. If your budget is tight and still want good food then look no further. It did appear that this restaurant had more of western feel to its food.
