We go fishing in Kodiak every 4 years and make the Old Powerhouse Restaurant a dinner destination each time !! This place sits on the exit / entry way to the harbor and a window seat is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy all the fishing boats coming and going. There is a outdoor seating area here, but we... May have been the best meal we had in Kodiak. Low key, comfortable, great view sitting by the window. May be the only $$ restaurant in Kodiak.

Pretty good Sushi here and not at a bad price. The owners are friendly and the place has a great atmosphere. See if you can get a spot by the window so you can see the local fishing boats coming and going from the fishing grounds. If the weather is good, outdoor seating is the way to go.

Great sushi and other dishes with a view of the harbor. The location is worth the visit alone. The staff is very friendly and service is good.

This was a change to dine here after six nights in Kodiak. What we liked was the portions, typical of many eateries, was not overwhelming. It is located on the waterfront which adds to the charm. Not hard to find at all, just drive along Marine Way past the visitors center/ferry terminal. Don't be alarmed if the pavement ends. Hey,... More

Have been to Kodiak 4 times and try to stop here everytime. Love the rolls and dinner on the deck is great.

Sushi was great! Not cheap, mind you; but this is Alaska and everything is expensive. They have paved their parking lot this year, so business appears to be good for them. The place is a bit hard to find, but well worth it.

The food at Powerhouse was terrific -- excellent sushi along with all sorts of other wonderful choices, all with an Asian flavor. Would say the ambiance is anything to write home about, but the food is excellent, and the service is friendly, helpful, attentive, and prompt. This is not within walking distance of the harbor area unless you're up for... More

I found the menu too slanted to fried seafood and sushi. They do have a very large menu and it is a popular place for tourists and locals. Seafood was good and appetizers are also good. Service was good. Prices are average category. Ate here twice will on a group tour.

Books up quick. Make a reservation for dinner and request a table by the water. Really loved the Toro and Yellowtail.
