Dinner

Came here for dinner one dark and stormy night as most everywhere else we hadn't already been closed down when the cruise ships left. Diner fare, cute atmosphere, food was so-so. Heard breakfast was great, so we may have to try them out again during our next trip to Ketchikan.

This is probably the one and only one star ill likely give, but yuk! I have given this place multiple chances, and I have only done that because its the only place open 24/7 so if you want to grab a bite after a movie it is THE only option. I have had breakfast and dinner, both times it was... More

Greasy spoon with mediocre, over priced food. Slow, inattentive service. Skip this place, there are better around.

Ate three breakfasts here as it was within walking distance. Food was plenty and tasty and the staff friendly.

Sorry, $14.99 for an omelet is not going to happen- at least not with me and the friends I traveled with. We were actually thinking about biting the bullet but the service was slow and we walked out after sitting for awhile. Spend your money elsewhere.

On a cruise ship visit we dropped in for a quick lunch in the middle of our sightseeing and shopping. They serve breakfast all day (I got the biscuits and sausage gravy) and typical '50's soda pop shop fare (my wife ordered a shake and a bowl of clam chowder). Prices are ok for a tourist town but not great.... More

I think of the Pioneer Cafe as an oasis of cruise ship schlock that makes up downtown Ketchikan. The food is good and abundant. It's more expensive than you'd expect to pay in most places in the Lower 48. The service is good. The food is better.

Pioneer Cafe is exactly what it advertises....it is a nice diner serving good wholesome diner food. Portions were Alaska sized so bring your appetite. I had a fine breakfast amidst a crowd of locals. Price was good and breakfast was tasty. Service was good too so I can't agree with other review on bad service. I would definitely come back... More

A decently priced meal is hard to find in Ketchikan! However the Pioneer, located right downtown, is a good mix. It is small and nothing fancy, but the food is decent, service was good, and prices were fair. It wouldn't be my first pick to go again, but if I were a local I think I would frequent there!
