Before arriving in Ketchikan aboard a cruise ship, I contacted a buddy stationed in the US Coast Guard there and one of my cousins who lives there to try to meet up. Both proposed Sweet Mermaids. Packed but nice. Excellent breakfast sandwiches. Local hangout as well as a convenient place for visiting tourists, right near everything.

The red velvet cake slice was fantastic. Very moist, fresh and tasted like home-made. Made my birthday perfect!!!

They have a variety of sweets to choose from. Mostly homemade. Serve coffees and milk shakes. Not much room for sitting for any length of time. Service was good.

Friendly baristas and the drinks were good. Nice assortment of other treats as well. Went there multiple times during our stay.

This is a small little coffee shop on the main street with amazing coffee and even better pastries! We would stop in here every week on our weekly walk through Ketchikan, we do ask that you bring back the large cinnamon buns for next season please!

After eating lunch at sea on a cruise ship for a couple of days this was a welcome change. The meatball sub was delicious, as was the milkshake that I had. It wasn't very fast and the service was just ok, but the wait and hassle were worth it.

Good coffee and hot chocolate. I was so sick of the coffee on the ship - this was a fabulous coffee and sweets snack! Wish I had bought the whole strawberry rhubarb pie....

Friendly place for us to grab a quick breakfast. Take time to walk down here, near the tunnel. Homemade with egg and lots of cheese.

Very friendly and served super yummy coffee!! We wanted to buy some gluten free syrup for the latte's on the cruise ship and they sold me a bottle for a reasonable price! Highly recommend

Like many people we came to Ketchikan on a cruise ship. Looking for somewhere more intimate and special to eat, we wandered north from the main pier and found Sweet Mermaids. We liked the cozy atmosphere and put in our orders for Curry Pumpkin Soup and Grilled Cheese sandwich plus the Mer Dog and drinks. The soup and sandwich came... More
