Pleasant server, Heather, was knowledgeable and polite. She was fairly busy but was prompt with taking orders and bringing to the table. Bartender, Dakota, was courteous and knowledgeable as well. The view was beautiful, the entire staff was courteous and the food was delicious! I live in Ketchikan and took my visiting family, Cape Fox did not disappoint. I do... More

The Cape Fox Lodge is a good quality hotel/restaurant complex, set in the forest just above downtown Ketchikan. It's accessible by road or a very clever tram from the dockside level. The restaurant offers an elegant, white tablecloth setting, with windows and a great view on two sides. The food and service are very good. The cocktails are surprisingly well-priced.... More

Neat experience taking the fenicula (cable car) up the mountain a ways down popular Creek Street in the pouring rain. $4 Round Trip pp. You step directly from the car into the hotel lobby and the restaurant was cozy, quaint and fantastic. Pricing was reasonable compared to other Alaskan establishments we tried during our journey. This was my favorite restaurant... More

Rode the fenicular up for lunch and had a great meal. Wonderful view of the town. Also looks to be the nicest place to stay in Ketchikan although we didn't stay here.

Dear PTGuy 1953 Thank you for your comments; we agree, it is the best place to stay and dine in Ketchikan and our one of a kind funicular “The Cape Fox Tram” brings you from the water front up to us here on top of it all. Thank you again for your fine words. JWM-GM-CFL More

We stayed at the cape fox lodge & decided to go have breakfast. What a huge mistake, our waitress didn't put our food order in for an hour! Once the food showed up we were disappointed. Don't waste your time or money.

Dear Mike, Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention here. I apologize that you were not able to discuss it with me when it occurred, for I would have instantaneously addressed it. I am guessing this must have occurred the day I arrived late for work at 6:30 AM instead of 6:00 AM. An hour delay for breakfast... More

I think that in this day and age a restaurant would have gone non smoking ...halfway through our meal someone lite up a really rancid cigarette and ruined the whole place. Food was good. The ribeye was ok ...but too much fat even for a guy who likes marbling. Time for this place to move into the 21st century.

The bar's wine was awful. I had to send it back. I inadvertently left my camera bag on the seat in the bar. The front desk people could hardly be bothered to help. The restaurant food was mediocre and overpriced.

Dear James F I must commiserate with your comment regarding your wine selection. As an oenophile myself I often find the “house wine” less than palatable. I also understand how frustrating it must have been to have misplaced your expensive camera bag. I can only imagine what a relief it was when my staff located it and returned it 20... More

For goodness sake, get off the main street in Ketchikan when its time to eat. We were so pleased and surprised at the good meal, good service, and nice experience at Cape Fox Lodge Restaurant. Probably a good idea to call and make reservations. We ordered from the selection of fresh fish, had a lengthy conversation with the waiter about... More

We waited for anyone to even acknowledge our presence when we first arrived. We had to find someone to seat us. Then, we waited and waited and waited for our server to come back. We finally found someone else to help us and then she, also, disappeared. After close to twenty minutes waiting to even get water, another server helped... More

We took the tram up to this restaurant, which is owned by an Alaskan Native company organized under the 1973 Alaskan Native Claims Settlement Act. It is perched right in the forest, with a warm rustic atmosphere and friendly staff. I had a generous portion of fish and chips and my husband Enjoyed the smoked salmon very much.

Dear Amanda Thank you for your nice review of our Restaurant and Staff. Our Smoked Salmon is a favorite of many of our guests and requested by quite a few diners. Thank you again for your kind words and we hope to see you again. JWM-GM-CFL More
