The food is nothing special -- very standard pub food with an emphasis on seafood, of course -- and the service is unenthusiastic, to say the least. The environment is cold and loud and if you get a table in the bar area, you won't get a view of the harbor; the bar backs against the windows and the tables... More

This was a great restaurant! There seafood was superb, like always in Alaska, though the thing that set this place apart was the amazing views of float planes landing the water right outside the window!

The bus driver on our tour to Mendenhall Glacier recommended The Hangar. He said lots of locals love the place, so we thought we give it a try. What a find! The food was really good, reasonably priced, and the waitstaff were very helpful. Not only delivered our order quickly during a rather busy lunch hour, but they also answered... More

We stopped off here for lunch after a trip up to Mendenhall Glacier, someone had suggested the Halibut fish and chips, so decided to try it. We enjoyed our meal, but also enjoyed watching the sea float planes that give tourists rides up to the glacier. They take off and land right along side the restaurant. The service was quick... More

Menu has a good range from small plates to larger entrees. The fish with the rice salad (mostly veggies) is a great way to get good Alaskan seafood with the grease of fried food.

Within walking distance of all the shops and ship docks... nice variety menu and full bar with great beers on tap! Had my first Alaskan Summer Ale here and couldn't stop at one! The grilled salmon and Gorgonzola salad I ordered turned out to be a delicious generous serving of unexpected White Salmon - fabulous! My sister had the salad... More

We were dropped off nearby by our tour guide who took us Kayaking on Mendenhall lake. She pointed out a few different spots for lunch but we were hungry so we went to the first place we saw. Great choice!! The rockfish and chips was the best fish and chips my hubby ever had. All the meals we ordered were... More

Got done hiking on the glacier and was wiped out. Someone suggested the Hanger. Walked into the "mall" it's in and was a bit nervous. However the owner greeted us and could not have been nicer. Great chowder and salmon burger. Anyone in town wanting a good lunch that is not a tourist trap. This is your place.

When we got into town after visiting the Mendenhall Glacier- we were hungry! Honestly, we hadn't heard anything about anywhere and were simply wandering around trying to find a place that "looked good." Our hunger quickly led us to the first place we stumbled upon which was FULL. So we kept on walking a short ways until we came to... More

We ate here twice on a recent trip. Reservations are a must if you wish to avoid the lines. Even though the Alaska king crab was pricey, it was worth every penny. I mean you are on vacation, aren't you? Highly recommend,
