I can't get enough of this place!

I live in Juneau and absolutely love this place. The bagels aren't just the best in Alaska but the best that I've had anywhere, and I travel all over the United States. All of the food is made from scratch, the hummus, cream cheese, soups, cookies, bread, and of course bagels. The busy staff... read more

Thanks so much for writing. We are thrilled you got what we are about. This week we have a sun dried tomato cheese bagel special and our bakers are testing out a Sourdough walnut wheat bread. Stop back in soon. More

The tea and coffee is great and the breakfast bagels and oatmeal really hit the spot! Don't let the long line discourage you - they are quick and get you on your way!

Thanks for saying. We love our oatmeal too. We blend it ourselves with craisins, chopped walnuts and a touch of brown sugar. Feel free to call an order in to skip the line. But we agree! Its well worth the wait. More

This place has great bagels and they also have a very good lunch menu. They offer several soups each day and have a comfortable dining area. The soup on a rainy day in Juneau really hit the spot.

Thanks for saying. Whats better on a cold wet day then a bowl of hot soup. We make 4 from scratch daily. We always have a vegetarian, a meat, a chili and our famous Vegan Thai Hot and Sour soup. We serve it up with homemade bread or one of our 17 varieties of bagels. More

I had both a breakfast and a lunch at the Silverbow. In all I tried a bagel, an egg sandwich, cup of soup and a salad. All were tasty, well-prepared and fresh made. They offer a nice variety of soups daily and salads. I'm not vegan but they have offerings which would match most diets these days. I was impressed... More

Wow, we are so thrilled that you enjoyed your meal. We do pride ourselves in our traditional NY style bagels. Back in the day the only bagels were plain in salt. Hope to see you again. More

Bought a dozen bagels, all five varieties were rock hard on the outside and dry on the inside. Peanut butter cookie didn't even taste homemade, ended up throwing 3/4 of it away. Save your money and buy grocery store bagels if you are in Juneau.

Thank you for your comments, we make traditional New York style bagels which get boiled in water before baking to create that hard shell and chewy inside. I will check the recent batch of cookies but, I can assure you they are all made from scratch. More

thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. My "Italian Meaty" panini on focaccia bread was so yummy and fresh that I will definitely go back for another before heading home in a few days.

My family and I stopped in at lunch time on a Sunday. We were told that they were completely sold out of bagels, and had literally half a loaf of garlic and rosemary bread and some cookies left. We ended up going somewhere else. It was disappointing for sure, driving all the way out from the valley, only to find... More

Wow, we are so sorry that happened and hope you give us another try. We plan our production lists a week prior and we obviously greatly underestimated the level of business we were going to have on that day. It is unusual for us to run out so completely. Thanks so much for letting us know. I will check with... More

Ate at the Silverbow for lunch. Bagel used for sandwich was so hard it hurt to chew it. That taken with the fact it was a very expensive lunch made for a pretty poor experience. Had heard much better things about this place in general but sure didn't live up to the reputation. Not worth trying again for me.

Thanks so much for saying. We appreciate hearing this. We do make a traditional NY style bagel that is boiled before baked. That does give it a hard shell with a chewy center. Maybe its not for everyone. We also bake from scratch multigrain bread, sourdough (form 100 year old starter), buttermilk bread, foccaccia, garlic rosemary and buttermilk bread. Our... More

it's been at least 10 years since I have stepped foot inside the Silverbow Bakery and once inside the door today not much has changed. Decor?? horrible, dated, tired, no place to park, under whelming, service slooooowwww as molasses in January. This place needs a makeover/remodel like nobodies business! It's not Hip, it's not funky, it's just dumpy. Staff is... More
