Great dinner

I love that they have organic food on their menu. The food has always been good and service is good. The atmosphere could be just a little better.

The Rookery is definitely worth a try: inventive menu, food prepared and delivered with care, really nice staff and overall vibe. I have eaten dinner there several times and never been disappointed. Also great to stop by for coffee and a burrito in the morning (especially if you're a Stumptown fan).

My burger was delicious. It was medium rare, so if you don't like that, take note. Tasty cole slaw on the side. Casual place-order at the counter and food delivered to your table. Beers on tap.

As a local, I have the pleasure of getting to see all of the intriguing, seasonal, foraged, and handcrafted meals that The Rookery Cafe churns out on a daily basis. However, it's absolutely the place that should top any visitor's list if they want to see unusual ingredients or unexpected presentations that are still grounded in pure, delicious eating. Friendly,... More

Very social artmosphere with both shared and single spaces. Usually local art pieces shared on walls. Chai is first rate with many options. Busy though service is prompt.

We visited Juneau in August, and ate here one day for lunch and one evening for dinner. Lunch was great. Burgers, onion rings, Yum. Dinner was "uneven". An earlier reviewer observed the small selection of seafood/fish items, to which I concur. The menu changes frequently, and the chef is trying different, edgy plates. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. We... More

inside it's warm, innovative and welcoming. We had a business dinner at this delightful restaurant, formerly just a coffee shop. Perched at a window table, observing late afternoon foot traffic on Seward Street, we enjoyed good wine and really really good, innovative food. Having only appetizers and small plates (cavatelli baked with Beecher's flagship cheese, Brussels sprouts tossed with something... More

What a great restaurant in D/T Juneau. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast at this fine establishment. The fried chicken was very tasty and melted in your mouth. In Portland, we have great fried chicken but the Rookery's fried chicken was a cut above. Their home made biscuit breakfast sandwiches were also delicious. Service for dinner was excellent.

The Rookery got a lot of positive press when its chef won a seafood cooking competition in New Orleans last summer and we were told it shouldn't be missed. Figuring it would be a good place to savor local fish, we snagged a reservation and arrived with anticipation. It didn't go well from the start. The dining room looks like... More
