Good meal

The rookery has a somewhat limited but modern/different menu. The food is pretty good. Youngish trendy crowd.

Read reviews on this location and wanted to give it a try. Reservations are a must... We started with the Salmon spread and Fried Okra -- The Salmon spread was fantastic and the OKA was as well, both presented with a nice look but a better flavor. We then moved onto Halibut and the BBQ rubbed Salmon(menus change daily/weekly) and... More

We were here in 2012 and had to return on our latest visit. It is a fun trendy coffee house. The pastries are very good. Plenty of seating and fun to people watch. They do have Wi-Fi.

This little hole in the wall is very easy to pass by. If you do, know that you are missing out on amazing food. Our table had the seared halibut with goat cheese, cherries, and zucchini - it was so delicious. We also had the kind salmon in BBQ sauce which was tangy and yummy. For dessert it was the... More

We were looking for a place to eat in Juneau and were referred to The Rookery by one of the locals. It was a little bit longer of a walk from the Mt. Roberts tramway than we anticipated but it was a nice place to eat once we arrive. The restaurant strikes me as a popular hangout for the younger... More

Went there for a nice real espresso which was impossble to get on the cruise ship. I was really pleased with the one I had at the Rookery. Ambiance and decor is also very nice.

Cruise ships serve good food these days, but the meal we had at the Rookery was the highlight of our trip. Our bus driver (a local) recommended it, and it was too bad that we didn't have a way to tell him that we took him up on his suggestion. The wait staff was fun, knew the food really well,... More

The Rookery is a coffee shop by day and a restaurant by night frequented by local residence. They serve original dishes of salads, seafood, pork or beef entrees. They have a nice variety of wines and beers as well. I had seared halibut which was fresh and delicious. I recommend this restaurant for its excellent food and departure from touristy... More

Still, this place gets five stars. Food was eclectic and delivered as promised. Family of five showed up about 8 pm on a Thursday night. Welcomed and seated at family style table in the middle of the joint. Overall wonderful dining experience - expensive, but that seem to be Alaska where a good sandwich can cost $15. Downers: Salads showed... More

We asked a local man from Juneau where he would suggest we eat. He mentioned The Rookery without hesitation. The café was busy when we went for lunch (1:00) but we were able to find a table. We checked out the menu and then ordered from the counter, paid, got our drinks from the cooler, and waited for the food... More
