Great crab and halibut. Limited menu, but it was packed. Also good Alaskan beer. Don't miss in Hoonah.

Whether you walk into or out of town back to your ship, make this a stop.A cold Beer,a mystery shot and a crab or crab sandwich are all worth it. Mary was great and very informative about the town and residents. Her Granddaughter was our waitress, new to the job but hardworking, always smiling and did her best!

We took a shuttle into town from our docking point (on a Cruise). The shuttle driver advised us this was the best place to have crab and her mother worked there. We stopped in and realized the mother owned the place. She has a unique personality that we had fun with. She will not overwhelm you with her friendly attitude.... More

Supposedly the best place to crab in Hoonah. Spoke with the owner, a very weathered woman, she explained where and how she kept the crab. She purchases from a local crabber, she has these large plastic barrels with probably twelve 4" diameter holes drilled all around the sides. She puts about thirty crab into each barrel and submerges them into... More

Went here for the crab legs and they were outstanding! That's the good news! The bad news was the waitress was so crabby she did not great us or offer us a menu~just came up with a pad of paper and a scowl. Everyone has a bad day so maybe this was hers~It did come highly recommended from the cruise... More

The place is very basic, but has fresh, great tasting crab, plus the tasty local Alaskan bear. Don't be fooled by the external appearance, and go.

Easy to walk to from the Cruise Ship Dock in Icy Strait Point. A fun place that looked and smelled so good while they were cooking the crabs outside in their big boilers-we couldn't pass it up! Of course Alaska style prices are in order here, but we split one big crab and enjoyed it completely. Enjoyed the beautiful window... More

Terrible, terrible service at this bar. It was not even busy. Everyone I met in this small town was really friendly except here. Do not waste your money! Go further into town and eat/drink. Esquire got it wrong.

The beer was nice and cold, but, the service left a lot to be desired. Glenna, our waitress, was in a bad mood and should have stayed home the day we visited and the owner wasn't doing much better. Next tiime, I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I cannot believe that you can go to a town of 650, walk into a "dive bar", watch them catch the crab and cook it and then have the most delicious crab you ever ate! The butter was not even necessary. Mary was a doll! The entire staff and even the customers were friendly and welcoming and they have a... More
