It was a long way to go to get deep fried shrimp, but worth it!

Living in Hawaii offers many opportunities for shrimp dinners, and this one for us and some local friends, was right up there with our own best, coconut shrimp. They were big, done just right and plentiful. We did enjoy the Pinot Gris with dinner, but would rather have had a cocktail. Sorry, beer... read more

During our 8 day stay in Homer, we ate at Captain Patties twice. It was truly excellent both times. I went there before they were actually open and found the cooks preparing fish just caught that day (they forgot to lock the front door and I went in by accident!). Just seeing the fresh fish made my mouth water and... More

Dinner was good, not great. Clam chowder, while tasty, was so pasty thick, it suggested a heavy hand with thickener, perhaps flour or corn starch, rather than cream. The special, a scampi seafood combo, was over broiled, almost tough. Broiled halibut was good.

We ordered the grilled seafood platter and it was outstanding. enough for the 2 of us to share. The halibut melted in your mouth. Salmon was out of this world. The scallops & shrimp were done perfectly. Don't miss.

Went there twice nice atmosphere good food. First time we had late lunch in the sun room. Enjoyed watching the wind sail surfing. Waitress was very efficient and fast that was good because we just drove in from Seward we were hungry and tired. We got fried halibut, nicely browned in fresh oil . Second day for dinner had to... Oh my! The best seafood I have ever eaten! We went 2 nights in a row. I had the same dish both nights, the sampler. Everything that I saw being served looked wonderful!

As locals we are sure to visit Captain Patties a few times every summer. Last night didn't disappoint. We had local brew and fresh local fish, the pasta dish is fantastic if you can pry yourself away from the clams or scallops.

Probably the best meal we have had anywhere in a long time. Food was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent. We went there twice and both meals were outstanding.

Ate dinner here--got seated without reservations at 6 on a Tuesday inAugust. The place is Hopping! Wait staff super busy, but super nice. Mom and I each and the baked halibut which was terrific. Give the chowder a skip. Would have been safer to have reservations. So scrumptious!
