Reserve a table - it gets busy! And although 15km doesn't look far, in fact it's feels like a lot more so allow a good half hour if driving from Homer centre. The Homestead is well signposted when you get there though. This is a fine dining restaurant with a very good menu, excellent service and a pleasant view. There's... More

I'm writing this review in March awaiting their reopening in April. We do miss having this restaurant open all winter. Their food id always creative. The wine selection can't be beat and the service is always impeccable. Some might say it is spendy, but remember where you are. All in all this is Fine Dining, but don't worry about how... More

Really good food! A little on the pricy side but we'll worth it! Make sure you request a table by the window, if you are lucky you might see Moose!

We looked for this restaurant based on other reviews he had read on Trip Advisor. It is a log building about 8 miles east of Homer, with a view of the glaciers. Very unprepossessing; you wouldn't think it was anything special, yet the dinner we had was one of the most memorable ever. I had a dish of grilled wild... More

The Homestead is THE place to go for true fine dining on the Kenai Peninsula. I have yet to find any place on the Peninsula road system that comes close! Excellent food, always. Excellent wine, always. Excellent service, always. I can't help but feel blessed that I can come here as often as we can. My wife and I have... More

We have been dining at the Homestead for over 10 years, it has always been a "must go to" place in the 13 trips we have made to Alaska. Last year we had amazing salmon dishes - one evening it was served with a cajun brown sugar hollandaise sauce. Two nights later we returned and it was served with a... More

We've visited the Homestead restaurant on a number of occasions over the years, and never been disappointed. Mrs. frsbdg proclaims that their premium Cosmopolitan is the best she has ever had. We started out with cocktails and an order of crab wontons, and shared a small "Ultimate Salad," with candied pecans and blue cheese. The printed menu mostly features steaks,... More

I'd heard about "The Homestead" for years from family and friends, but had never eaten there. On this trip I had friends visiting from the east coast and decided to try it out. The menu was great, with good vegan/vegetarian options and when the food arrived, it was fantastic. All four people, with very different tastes, loved their meals. The... More

Fine dining with a great Bay view. This is a special dinner kind of place. The food is exceptional and the service top notch. Expect to get what you pay for. Its worth the splurge. It's a bit out of town so a car or cab ride is necessary to get here.
