Very fancy, a step above my comfort level, but I can see why so many locals recommended it. It sounds weird, but I had the best dinner salad ever here! The Halibut was great, so was the steak, and the service.

We ate at the Homestead restaurant our first night in Homer. Our B&B host recommended it and we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic (try the seafood cakes!) and service was good. It was definitely pricey, but we thought it was worth the splurge. We sat by the window and had a great view.

I don't know why this isn't the number 1 restaurant in Homer. We had dinner here on the first night when we arrived and we decided to go back again the next day - that's how good it was! We have King Crab legs, steak, pasta and salad and the King Crab legs were the best that I've ever tasted.... More

The food and service at the Homestead restaurant were wonderful. We celebrated a birthday there and had one of our best meals in Alaska. The food is reasonably priced for what you get.

Just skip this place--- trust me. There are WAY better, less expensive places in Homer. My husband and I dined here on our honeymoon trip and could not be more disappointed. Their menu seemed quite lacking, especially in seafood options! The seafood that we did order was majorly lacking in flavor, and the vegetables/sides must have sat too long because... More

We always go for dinner at least one night when in Homer at the Homestead. The food is excellent and the cocktails are out of this world. If Kachemak Bay oysters are in season order them, they are a real treat and worth the price

In 2003 I ate at the Homestead for the first time-the food was incredibly good, excellent service and reasonably priced that I talked about it frequently. Fast forward to August 2014 when 7 adults were traveling in Alaska. While in Homer I recommended that we eat at the Homestead. Reservations were made for 6:30 PM on Thursday August 7th. We... More

My husband had the best, freshest king crab he has ever tasted! It was extremely expensive but a real treat. The salad was also very fresh.

This happened to be the closest restaurant to where we were staying on East End Road. We didn't want to drive into the center of Homer or the spit after a long day of fishing. The Homestead was a pleasant surprise. From the outside you would never imaging that the food would be so upscale and delicious. I highly recommend... More
