Don Jose does a nice job, but it is really just another Mexican restaurant. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The service was good as well.

We ate at Don Jose's twice while in Homer and both times we were pleasantly surprised. Great food and friendly service. The extra hot sauce is the best if you like spicey and the burrito is huge. When you get tired of eating fish, try this restaurant. Muy bueno!

If you're in the mood for Mexican food while you're in Alaska, (why, I can't imagine), then Don Jose's is you only choice. Located in Homer, it's easy to find. Prices are average and so is the food.

We are from Arizona where we are use to very authentic Mexican food yet we were not disappointed at all. Great Margaritas, full bar, and great options on the menu!

We tried to eat as much seafood as we could, and the dish here with shrimp and scallops was a favorite on our seafood hit parade! The atmosphere is casual and relaxing and we had cheerful, friendly serving personnel.

Good Mexican Supper. Our family liked it and enjoyed the friendly staff. We especially loved the colorful chairs.

Don Jose's, of Homer offers a wide selection of Tex-Mex favorites and usual fare found at almost any other Mexican place on the planet. There is also a selection of pizzas and some non-Mexican fare for those wishing for something else. Having eaten there dozens of times as a local, the service is usually good but inconsistent as is the... More

The quality just isn't there when it comes to there food. It taste frozen and pre-made. Save your money and your time and head across the street.

Don Jose's is about as close to an authentic Mexican cantina as you find on the Kenai Peninsula. The decor is Mexican arts and crafts with touches of uniquely Homer artistry. I love thin freshly-made chips and salsa, and these were second to none, the enchiladas were very good too. More than ample servings. We were there at the end... More

I ordered black bean nachos, which can without black beans and most of the cheese wasn't melted! Other food was ok. Type of place I would go if others wanted to go here, but I wouldn't pick it myself.
