Don Jose's, of Homer offers a wide selection of Tex-Mex favorites and usual fare found at almost any other Mexican place on the planet. There is also a selection of pizzas and some non-Mexican fare for those wishing for something else. Having eaten there dozens of times as a local, the service is usually good but inconsistent as is the... More

The quality just isn't there when it comes to there food. It taste frozen and pre-made. Save your money and your time and head across the street.

Don Jose's is about as close to an authentic Mexican cantina as you find on the Kenai Peninsula. The decor is Mexican arts and crafts with touches of uniquely Homer artistry. I love thin freshly-made chips and salsa, and these were second to none, the enchiladas were very good too. More than ample servings. We were there at the end... More

I ordered black bean nachos, which can without black beans and most of the cheese wasn't melted! Other food was ok. Type of place I would go if others wanted to go here, but I wouldn't pick it myself.

Good place to get your Mexican food fix in town. Good margaritas, and a friendly staff. Bit of a bummer that a refill of chips or salsa costs extra. I know some people abuse this at other restaurants, but I think it turns some people off.

This was by far, the worst restaurant choice we made during our two week stay in Alaska. The food was less than mediocre - a total waste of calories, margaritas from a mix, and the service absolutely sucked.

Who would think you could get excellent Mexican food in Alaska? Well you can, at Don Jose's. The best part is the sopapillas for dessert--with cinnamon and sugar, honey, chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream! So good we went back a second time during our week in Homer. The same owner also owns restaurants in Anchorage and Kenai. But the... More

Very good seafood fajitas and super fajita salad. If we lived here we would be regulars. Very colorfully decorated and friendly service.

There are a lot of mediocre exican restaurants in this area, but this one is excellent. Prices are reasonable and the menu is extensive.

If you really like Mexican this may work for you. Our service was great, but we were there mid afternoon. We are not big fans of Mexican food but we had just come into town and were in a hurry to eat.
