Different for Haines

This is the more upscale restaurant for Haines. It was very good. We just had salads and flatbread and it was excellent. We ate in the bar and the wait staff was so-so. Fun to people watch as you have the hikers and city folk mixed together!

Pleasantly furnished dining room with a view to the parade grounds. just a limited menu. every dish we tried was cooked to perfection and quite delicious. we loved the salmon, the halibut, the lamb shank with Moroccan spices and the rabbit sausage dishes. good friendly service. I think the reason why the restaurant doesn't get many reviews is that it... More

We were expecting more from this restaurant that some have spoken highly of. The chicken liver pate was excellent, rest of meal just good. All would have been fine if we had had friendly service. The waitress (evening, bar, 6/24/15) was decidedly unfriendly. Only when she brought food for the table, she told me they were out of what I... More

I wish the restaurant stayed open past 9pm. That's probably my biggest complaint. The food I was served over two nights was terrific. If you like seafood, try out the king salmon, the halibut, or the fish and chips. I would also recommend looking at the wine list. The prices they are charging for good bottles of wine is very... Ate here twice towards the end of the summer. The first time I had the Moroccan spiced lamb shank w/couscous and it was truly gourmet. The next time I tried the house made rabbit sausage. That was quite good, but the portion was pretty small for the price. My dining partner had the halibut, which he raved about.

Ok, I know this was their last day of the season, but everything seemed a bit....rubbish! 2 of the 5 or 6 entrees were sold out, and we were there early, but this looked like the busiest day of the year...it was packed! It took a full hour to go straight to entree's. I ordered the rib-eye, medium rare, it... More

Although learning to cook a steak is one of the easiest tasks for most chefs to learn, those in the kitchen here consistently mess up. If a steak is ordered medium rare it comes out rare. If you order medium it comes out rare. The menu does not say "pepper steak", yet the steak arrives coated in cracked pepper. The... More

Hits: perfect lemon drop martini, excellent duck confit salad, crab crusted halibut, beet salad. Fail on rib eye steak for both me and the table beside me that had three ordered. too much salt and too much fat and gristle. not cooked to specification-think these are cooked on a flat top not a grill as they just looked grey. sad... Food was fine, service was ridiculous. We torturely watched as a couple who was there well before us waited well over an hour for fish and chips....We would have walked out well before them. My $30/$40 steak was fatty and chewy. Not sure why we tipped the waitress but I'm sure we did. Local kids running amuck throughout the bar... More

We ate dinner here on a Monday night. It was somewhat busy but not crowded. We has a table with a lovely view of the water and old firehouse. After we were seated it took us a long time to order drinks, then another long time to receive our drinks. Other than that the service was great and we really... More
