We ate breakfast here before catching the ferry to Prince Rupert. The restaurant had very good choices and the menu and the food was excellent.

Not too inviting from the outside but once in the service was very friendly and the simple, freshly prepared food was very good and great value.

We though the service was good and friendly. The food was good and lot of local eat here. that's where we met John Schnabel that's on the t.v. show gold rush. He's just as nice as he is on t.v. Also the restaurant is clean and in good location. Try for yourself. WE were here for breakfast and dinner.

My hubby and I shared the fish and chips for lunch. We both enjoyed it and would return if we are in the area again.

Like most of the places we've eaten in the area, this place was over priced for poor service and so-so food. The fish and chips were good but the seafood Cesar salad only had a few pieces of seafood in it, was not a good Cesar recipe and was overpriced at $26. Pretty disappointed.

What a fun find in the little village of Haines. We found the place through the recommendation of a local. We were a group of nine and we all really enjoyed our lunch. The charred halibut sandwich was pretty good. The smiley fries were disappointing though. The atmosphere of the place is great. Careful about ringing the bell.... It could... More

The building is kind of a joke, as you will be a little nervous going inside. The furniture looks like my mom's kitchen in the 1950s. The salmon was absolutely fabulous, however! The prices were the best in town. We went back twice for their Sockeye Salmon and Salad, which was only $17 (a real deal in Alaska)! There was... More

If you ever find yourself anywhere near Haines, Alaska--I'm talking 300 miles near--do yourself a favor and drop into the Bamboo Room for a bite to eat. While traveling through Haines recently, we found this place by accident. I ordered their halibut fish and chips and, truthfully, it was the best damned plate of fried fish I have ever eaten.... After spending the night at the Hotel Halsingland, we had breakfast at the Bamboo Room. It was very good, and no more expensive than other places in Alaska. A great "local" spot--we loved it!!

I ended up eating here because it was just about the only option open. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and some fries. The curly fries were tasty but the burger was awful (no taste) and overpriced. The bacon was just as bad. The burger on the ferry was 10 times better and that's saying something.
