There arent lots of choices as to where to eat. thought halibut and chips would be a good thing to get - they were out of halibut. had a burger and my friend got the fish tacos. filled the gap. no more no less. waitress was not remotely slammed yet was apologizing to everyone - 4 tables- that she was... Being from New York City, it's easy to be a food snob and make wrong assumptions about the fare offered in small towns. We randomly wandered into the Lighthouse for a late lunch on a very rainy day - not expecting much from this unassuming little local place. . To our surprise, the food really was excellent - not only... More

A group of 4 of us from Whitehorse were in Haines for the weekend and decided to go here for lunch. There were a few other tables, not busy by any means, and we were completely ignored. The server walked around our table and served everyone around us. This isn't the first time I've heard of this here, a group... More

Wife ordered fish tacos but we couldn't find the fish?? I had deep fried chicken and it was severely overcooked. Very disappointed!

Since other places in town are not always open for lunch, this became our go-to place for Inch and a beer. Great salmon, nice harbor view, and local microbrews on tap.

Food tastes terrible! I had fish and chips. They managed to get the grease inside and it tasted gross. the chips were below average. My wife had a steak. Her "baked" potato was microwaved. Gross! I overheard a lady returning the coffee, saying that it tasted horrible. The waitresses didn't know what they are doing, but they did try to... More

Stopped here for lunch during a four day visit to Haines. The special that day was fresh caught halibut and salmon fish and chips. What a treat! I had never had battered and fried salmon and it was delicious. The portion was large--4 pieces of battered salmon and 2 of halibut. The fish was excellent. The fries were hot and... More

My husband had the teriyaki bowl & I had the fried chicken. Although there were 3 pieces of chicken (a leg, a thigh, & a breast), it looked like it had come off of a cornish game hen the pieces were so small. The teriyaki bowl was more like a cup. The service was spotty & the server had problems... More

Our party of 3 adults waited over an hour for our meal here when there were only 2 other tables. I have been to Haines several times and live in Whitehorse so am aware of 'Alaska Time'. There were 2 people in the kitchen and a lot of laughing and joking going on. Our order was nothing fancy and I... More

Every time a get somewhere close to the ocean, I have to try some of the local chowder. The seafood chowder here rates up there but it was just wasn't creamy enough to make it into the top five. The rest of the food was good, flavourful and fresh, especially the salad, and the beers we had were local (... More
