Great lunch spot

Best place to go for lunch when out at the eagle preserve in November. Best burgers and chili around and friendly wait staff.

Best Burgers in a warm atmosphere and a very friendly service. In this restaurant you have the real feeling, that you are in Alaska ! We were served by the mother of the owner - what a nice person !! From the bald eagle preserve it is only a 10 minutes drive.

I can't eat beef so I couldn't sample there infamous burgers. But their halibut fish and chips did me fine. However, the one dish that I could not find anywhere else and I craved often during my summer in Haines was the instant mac and cheese dish (served with smiley fries). I kept coming back for one simple dish that's... More

We had been in Haines for the day and had driven up past the Canadian border. On our way back we stopped at 33 Mile Roadhouse since I heard it was good. It was a charming place with good food and good service. Shortly before we were getting up to leave, Grandpa Schnauble from "Gold Rush" came in for lunch... More

If your visiting the bald eagle reserve drive a few more beautiful miles to enjoy good food and nice hosts. Don't forget to save room for the pies!

A one stop shop about seven miles from Canadian/U.S. border. Wife and I both got burgers and both were terrific. They also sell gas and propane, which saves me a trip to town

Had out of town guests so we took the very scenic drive from Haines to 33 Mile Road House. Very busy place. Only saw 2 people working-the waitress and cook. Service was prompt and food good and hot. Had burgers and lettuce and tomato topping fresh. Kids loved the happy face french fries. Definitely worth the trip.

Absolutely loved the 33 Mile Roadhouse. The restaurant building is an aged log structure, very rustic and charming inside and out. We truly enjoyed our burgers and fries! The fries were the old-fashioned kind, shoestring cut, twice fried and super crispy. Hubby had a BBQ burger and I had the southwest burger with jalapeno bottlecaps -- both were perfectly cooked,... This is a good stop off place between Haines and Haines Junction. It doesn't pretend to be fancy or fine, but it does a good job of presenting road house food. The owners have some interesting artifacts that are fun to view. If you're in need of some basic home cooking out this way, do stop by!
