Long wait to get in, the "hostess?" was rude, but the food was fantastic. The chefs were both very talented.

If you are a fiend for sushi, then this is the restaurant for you! Just call ahead to make sure they are open since it's not every day in the shoulder seasons!

Love their sushi, less of a fan of the seating options which are long bench tables without space between you and the diners you don't know but all in all--still 5 stars cuz its amazing!

I live in Hawaii and am surrounded with high quality sushi restaurants and this one is good but nothing special. It's usually very crowded and the seating is community style where you could be seated with several others on the same table. If you want to eat in peace, then this is not the place for you. The evening we... More

The only thing I didn't like about Sakura is the stone tables are freezing cold on your bare arms - so wear a sweater! Their sushi was some of the freshest, most delicious and beautifully prepared I've ever had and they have sake flights that are really fun. So try a few that you wouldn't normally try, you can always... More

Nice restaurant with local ingredients incorporated in Sushi. Excellent, attentive service. A bit pricey.

Lots of noise and way understaffed. My wife did get her main course 20 minutes later then my. We split mine one and canceled hers. They said there was a staff problem.

The sushi is fine but a little pricey even for AK high food prices. But the sushi chef was really nice and friendly, so we had a great time. Would have eaten there again but it's closed most days, only open Fri-Sun.

We ended up in Girdwood on our way back to Anchorage at dinnertime and had not made any plans. We were unable to get last minute reservations at any of the top rated restaurants in Girdwood and so went to Sakura. My kids ordered the Bento Boxes. They said the Sushi and Crab legs were good, but the salmon was... More

The Sakura Sushi restaurant was delicious and Chef Toby really went out of his way to make us all feel welcome. And left FULL and a bit drunk on tasty Sake and delighted to clamor back up to our rooms. Bravo!
