This was an average dining experience in a place that seemed tired. There are many better places to eat in Raro. This one may be resting on its past reputation.

Highlight was the giant tree trunk of an eel swimming in the pond by the pool. Service, whilst friendly enough, was disappointingly slow and irritatingly absent-minded (two dessert orders were just forgotten, delaying our departure from the restaurant by half an hour). Chicken with coconut breadcrumbs was fine; pork belly was a bit samey. The restaurant seems to aspire to... More

We went to Flame Tree for dinner but we were so disappointed. We had been there 2 years ago and loved the food so couldn't wait to go back but what a disappointment. We had booked but really there was no need as there was only 2 other couples there and it was a Saturday night. The service was shocking... More

It was an expensive meal and nothing really exciting about it. The steak was cooked well. The service was only ok but the place and people just lack that special something that make a restaurant that you want to go back to. There was just no atmosphere and we would not go there again. If you want to pay the... More

Great food and service, the waitress knew her stuff and we weren't kept waiting, but not rushed at all. Ate there over 25 years ago and loved it, same still applied today.

If you're looking for truly local cuisine with a luxury twist you should be eating here. The pork belly with kumura mash is to die for and deserts very tasty., Really great wine selection too. Sit undercover on the decking and watch the fish and giant eels below. The service is fantastic and great local ambiance. 5 stars!

Lovely setting, and very friendly and helpful staff. The seafood platter for one, was plenty for two ladies. Delicious

This was our return visit to the Flame Tree at Muri and we were not disappointed with the food. The menu offers a selection that should appeal to most tastes. Look out for the fresh water eels that inhabit the pond - one of which is over 19 years old! We will be back to sample the food again on... More
