Dream of an Exotic Meal Out

The fun of eating out for dinner with your feet in the sand, the deputy Mayor driving the taxi for you there and back, and then the feast of a lifetime!! We had the almost unique Coconut Crab, one to share and it was incredible. As they are protected, (practically extinct in the rest of the... read more

We popped in to taste the 'Must do' crab and glad we did. Prepare to get messy and wear much of it , the sauce it is served in is delicious and the crab can easily be shared between 2 at a price of $79 then you probably won't be having one each anyway.

Visited today had seafood chowder it was sooooo good! The yummiest thing I've eaten in Aitutaki! The beef and potato pie my partner has was nice and the lemon cheesecake also good! Highly recommend this place! Just wished we had discovered it sooner!

Recommended to us by a local hotelier. In the middle of the island near town. Open for lunch only with a small menu. I had the prawns which were beautifully presented and tasted like heaven. Home made tropical juice really nice. Lots of mossies though - repellent a must.

We had a great lunch here, in a beautiful garden setting. Staff were friendly and chatty, and the food was lovely. Not open in the evenings, but a great place for lunch.

I have visited Tupuna's on a number of occasions on this stunning island. I have never been disappointed by the food. Tupuna herself, the very creative chef, has recently changed from an evening dinner venue to a lunchtime-only venue. Cafe Tupuna opens from 11am - 3pm. Some new items have been introduced to the menu, such as delectable homemade pies... More

Cafe Tapuna is set in a garden of a house. The setting is quite quaint and simple with beach sand on the floor. We found the food to be very average. Still tasty, but not wow! Very pricey.

You must go here if you like seafood! Best mudcrab, Iakamata (marinated raw fish) and chowder to die for. Very friendly front desk lady. Nice grounds. A bit off the track but track them down up past the dive shop on your scooter and you'll keep going back.

I have relied on Tripadvisor recommendations for several years on many trips around the world and have never been steered completely wrong...until now. The garden setting was pleasant enough and the food itself was average, albeit pricey. The meal quickly deteriorated when my wife requested that the lukewarm fish she was served be reheated and the chef literally came out... More

This review was for a visit last December 2014 (5 months ago) Restaurant was closed 13th December 2014 and the staff dispersed to other employment. I have re opened as a Lunch Destination only with a reduced staff as from 4th May 2015. I was not made aware of the complaint from last December. Also the reply to the review... More

Had lunch here and the food was wonderful. Mudcrab entrée and ceviche main course. The crab was cooked perfectly and the sauce could stand alone as a dish in it's own right. The tuna in lime juice and salad was sublime and stands as one of the best fish dishes I have tasted. Rustic surroundings create a great atmosphere. Friendly... More
