Wonderful small seaside bistro. Lunch was very nice with friendly service. The high point was that our rental car refused to start. Everybody came from the restaurant to help.wonderful people!

We rented a car and made the loop around Huahine. This restaurant was suggested by the agency we rented the car from in town. The selection of food was limited but if you like fish this is no problem. We both had a fish meal and the food was very good. The service was excellent and the view was amazing.... More

Went there around 1:00pm for lunch on a Monday. Location was empty. Only one other couple. Most items were unavailable and the only choice offered was off course the most expensive of the menu. View was OK but not better than the one at Relais Mahana, the property next door which also has a great and cheap lunch menu (their... More

Go for the Sunday feast! Filled with locals, loved that this wasn't a tourist trap. The music and atmosphere was fun and festive and the buffet of all the authentic Polynesian cuisine was delicious! I even loved the Fafaru!

We went with a group of people. I ordered the Mahi Mahi with Vanilla Sauce and it was excellent; other people ordering the same dish reported it being bland and tough. Although we ordered one dessert, we were served (and billed) for two. On the plus side, we were greeted with fresh leis and the setting was beautiful.

Wanted to try a new place after a couple of nights at the nearby Relais Mahana and had read mostly good things. Therefore very disappointed to find uncharacteristically (for French Polynesia) inattentive, indifferent service and nearly inedible food. I am loathe to criticize a language barrier, but our server made minimal effort to understand us (and I noticed the same... More

The locals recommended the authentic polynesian luau on a Sunday (not sure if it is every Sunday). Go by 11 am and see the entire menu removed from six hours in a below ground Tahiti oven. The food is absolutely polynesian and it is excellent. Be sure and have dessert. It is expensive ($35USD) but they take credit cards. Tables... More

Not much else on the island but this is a nice find. If you go to Bloody Mary's on Bora Bora, you find sand on the floor and thatched roof...but it feels contrived. Chez Tara feels more like a true beach restaurant, because that is what it is. Tuna and rice was great and sitting right on the beautiful water... More
