We went here in 1986 and it is still around ! Listen it isn't about the food it is all about the experience and let me tell you 27 years later we still reminis about our evening. The intrepid trip up and the amazing views. In those days it was all you can eat chips and wine and in my... More

Le Belvedere is a unique experience in Tahiti. Consider it an excursion where food is served. We had a 4:30 pickup. It was really nice to see the daytime, sunset, and nighttime views from up high. The food is not gourmet and the menu is somewhat limited, but we enjoyed the beef fondue. The dinner was about $70 each and... More

The food is secondary to the ride and the view of Papetee. Late afternoon pick up means you see the city light up below you. Get picked up and driven by someone who has done this road for 30 years. As far as i am concerned food is secondary. BTW that is true of all restaurants with a view, but... More

Decent value, about $100 including pick-up/drop-off for a bottle of wine, salad bar, bread and two main courses. Exciting trip getting up there too. While other posters complain about this I think it's kind of fun, adding to the experience.

Get in the restaurant’s shuttle van at your hotel, go up the steep hill, hang-on as your vehicle speeds around countless twists and turns, pray for the pedestrians and bicyclists along the way, and then breath a sign of relief when you arrive at Le Belvedere. The view from the restaurant is spectacular. Even Papeete, which is not a pretty... More

We were recommended by our hotel reception to try Le Belvedere (Le Meridien Papeete). They told us the food is beautiful and the view is spectacular. Well, we agree the view is stunning after a long ride up the mountain. Pick up and drop off was free of charge. The food is just simply not up to a restaurant standard!... More

With the usual problem faced by travellers the world over ... limited time ... I opted to take the sunset option on a Sunday night in Papeete ... our chauffeur driven vehicle collected two Swiss tourists from another hotel and then myself and four Americans from the Intercontinental Tahiti Resort (including two who couldn't even be bothered to arrive on... We were a group of 10. Most of us were experienced travelers and up for a bit of adventure. The bus ride up the mountain certainly provided that! Let's be clear, the bus is not a luxury vehicle, but it was safe, the driver was careful, and it was free. We understood, up front, that there was a set menu,... More

We had to be off our Princess cruise ship by 5 p.m., but our flight didn't leave until after 10 p.m. Luckily, my friend saw an advertisement that said, "We'll pick you up, feed you a wonderful dinner with gorgeous views, then take you to the airport!" The advertisement indicated that the restaurant was French and they were well known... More

On top of a mountain 2000 metre's so great view, especially at sunset. Went on a Saturday evening and only 6 in restaurant. Food very average but expensive, over £50 each so total rip off. One to visit for view but find somewhere else to eat.....if you can?
