Marvelous view

It is a fancy place, not to go alone. The best way to enjoy this restaurent is with your couple or with your friends. A little bit dancing, nice conversation atmosphere and a view to contemplate. Don´t go up too late, because it takes a while to get there.

Visiting Costa Rica, this is one highlight that should be scheduled in your itinerary. Spend a few more extra dollars for a lovely romantic dinner with excellent food (several selections to your heart's desire and what your palate crave for) , great service (friendly accommodating bilingual waiters), and an Amazing view of San Jose at night that surely will be... Incredible location above San Jose, especially at night. Appears as old monastery but replica, including chapel. Great service. Good wine and good but not great food. Go for the view.k

Le Monastere is located uptown about 40 minutes from city center. It's an affluent neighbourhood with outstanding views of the Central valley and the 3 volcanos. The place preserves the monastere facades as well as a chapel. The rest is refourbished and the courtyard as well as most of the tables of the various salons offer the views of the... More

The restaurant is very fancy, we really like it a lot! The view is wonderful, as well as the staff. Food was very good, however I found it quite expensive. Very good place if you need a fancy place to go!

I went with some friends and the view is perfect, as well as the personel. I do think, even it is a fancy place, it is over-priced at some point.

Wife, adult daughter and I visited for dinner. This restaurant over looks the city and the view is quite spectacular at night. It is a pricier french restaurant, set in an old monastary. The staff wear jumpers resembling monk garb. Unfortunately our experience was diminished by a substantial delay in service. Atfer our salads we waited 35 minutes for the... More

This restaurant is over-priced and the quality of food is not exceptional. In addition they presented our bill with the items ordered including the 13% tax. To that total was added 10% service. They are charging 10% on the tax. I don't think this is legal. We paid $150 for a very ordinary meal.
