I have been going to Le Monastere for over ten years. The food got worse and worse. The menu is over priced. Rack of Lamb for $ 90.00. I paid for it but, it was the worst rack I ever had in my life.

I've been here a couple of times and went back for the awesome view of the city and the bar downstairs. Previously the food had been average but this time it was excellent. Part of the bar was being renovated but the part with the great views was open. The bartender really knows what he's doing and took good care... More

If you're looking for a romantic and unusual place in San Jose to have dinner, this is it. It's remote, off the beaten path, and a view that is out of this world. Make a reservation at 7 and it's likely you'll have the place to yourself. The room we were seated in had three glass panels giving a panoramic... More

I went to celebrate an important anniversary with my wife. We were not disappointed. You climb up the hill and get a worth while view provided that it is not in rainy season (or fog).

Went recently with my wife to celebrate her birthday. Food, place, the view, everything is really good. We have different entrees, main dishes and share a dessert, and all of them have a really good taste, presentation and portion sizes. Is a little bit pricey, but based on the food quality and the nice location, is a fair value.

I gave Monastere one star. The view is incredible, but anything good about the restaurant starts and stops there. The prices are astronomical. They had a rack of lamb entree for over $100, and I am sure glad I did not order it, because if it was as good as anything else we had, I would have gone through the... More

From the first time I called and made a reservation with Carlos requesting a window table for my girlfriend and myself to the moment we arrived and all the way through dinner with our server Oscar J. everything was superb. The restaurant itself is very special and unique in that you are in a 100 year old Monastere on the... More
