Best food and service in Costa Rica

Without a doubt this was the best meal in Costa Rica; the food quality and service was exceptional and on par with any if the top restaurants I've experienced anywhere. Excellent food! We all ordered the lomito and it was cooked to perfection. I recommend this restaurant to all those meat lovers.

My first trip to La Cascada was in 1979, and have been there many times since. It was and still is my fav restaurant in Central America. The half baby beef with chimichurri sauce is just about perfect.

THE PLACE It opened back in 1965... and when you get in, you can tell it haven't gone thru any renovation since day one. The place looks old, has old furniture and isn't really a place that invites you in or to eat either. The restrooms were horrible! wearing tiles that were old, tasteless and not so clean really. The... More

Our guide recommended this restaurant. It was soooo delicious, we had the grilled vegetable appetizers and the salmon topped with shrimp for entrees. We substituted the sides that were included, changed the sauce. Had large bottle of water.......with all their taxes.....$46. We added additional tip. Go there.

Excellent steak, delicious meat! Suitable for families... Love it! Coming back every year. Ceviche is a must, then the Lomito for seconds and ending with any of the delicious typical costarrican's dessert... Perfect day out!!

It has been a tradition to come here and celebrate major events in the family from birthdays to graduations, On of the best Lomito you will find in Costa Rica, and they always treat us like family.

My mom stated this was the best steak she's ever had. It was in my top 10. We ordered the house special, and wine. Meal was good, service was excellent, and we would return. The staff was especially helpful as we didn't speak Spanish, and loved the meal!

The quality of the meats was lacking and the flavor very mild. This restaurant is incomparable with any good meat steakhouse in the US however the prices of this restaurant are completely ridiculous. I spent about $100 for me and my wife and I would have got a better plate at outbakcks or even Applebee's. Completely overpriced I'm only giving... More

Costa Rica is not known for its beef so I didn't expect a great deal re: steaks. My T Bone was tough, difficult to cut due to the grizzle running thru it. I asked for medium rare and got rare. I asked for sour cream for my potato and it took what seemed to be forever for the sullen waiter... More
