La Esquina de Buenos Aires is, simply put, the best Argentinean restaurant in San José, and it ranks pretty high if we talk on a countrywide basis. I like this place quite a bit and visit regularly. It is always packed and unless you have time to kill at the bar (you might like that too, actually!) you should plan... More

This is as good as the parillas in Buenos Aires, without a doubt. Very nice wine list as well. Go early or make reservations, though, because it does get crowded later in the evening. Definitely worth a visit.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in SJO and the food and service has never disappointed me. It has an old school feel it and you do need reservations if unless you plan on eating early. They know how to make a Manhattan which is sometimes hard to find in Costa Rica, they have an extensive wine list and the... More

Our son had read a positive review of this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and our group of 5 ordered a variety of entrees ranging from chicken to pasta to steak. My homemade ravioli was the best I've ever eaten. The staff took excellent care of us and made our first night in San Jose... More

Nice deco, unfortunately loud from the street. Food was delicious and authentic. Good and friendly service. Not cheap, but compared to many others worth the money.

a nice, cosy restaurant with friendly staff and really, really good food ! I loved to dine there.. All different platers we had chosen with our company were just delicious... The pricing of the food and drinks is ok, not too expensive. The staff was really friendly towards the kids.

This has to be my favorite restaurant in Costa Rica, If you have been here you know that there are many "good" restaurants that try to imitate what we all know to be traditional recipes but seems like people here just don't get it. However, La Esquina de Buenos Aires has nailed it, their meats and empanada's are absolutely delicious... More

This restaurant came highly recommended by our wedding photographer (we eloped in CR). We dined here the night before the wedding. Reservations recommended, but they seated us promptly without one. The atmosphere was cozy and warm - excellent music selection (jazzy vocal). Staff were adequately bilingual. The food was outstanding! So much so, we dined here again the night before... More

On our last night in San Jose we visited this restaurant on recommendation of gringos who have been living in CR for many years. The Argentinian steak my husband and I had was absolutely delicious - we often visit Gaucho restaurant in London but the steaks there were MUCH better - and we actually ordered an extra one at the...
