I'm not sure what to think about this place, the food was ok not the best sushi for sure. What made my visit a bad experience was the attitude from my server, very rude. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable, not kids friendly at all...

Went for dinner with friends. Ordered the sushi sashimi boat. it was very very disappointing. the sushi was ok. however, some of the sashimi was actually smelling. they were just not fresh and we actually had to order something else to eat as we were not confident about the meat. had not expected this. our replacement order was for tempura... The people who gave this an excellent rating must have not actually tried the Sushi. I've tried 5 Sushi restaraunts in the San Jose Area while Studying abroad for 3 months and Ichiban is by far the worst. The rolls are full of rice with paper thin fish slapped on top. The roll didn't even come with a side of... More

It is one of my favorite restaurants, good place to enjoy sushi... the prices are okay, the enviroment is quiet normal, but as i said is a good option to eat sushi.

My two daughters and I ate at Ichiban and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The miso soup and edamame were exactly what we expected and wanted. The salmon sushi was delicious! The vegetarian options are a bit limited, as is usual I think in Costa Rica. There was a vegetarian sushi roll, but it had mostly beet in it, which was... More

The rolls are original and delicious. They make an effort to create rolls and food with local products, which is interesting. The service is quite nice and the locations are accessible and affordable.

I’ve been coming to Ichiban since it first opened maybe 8 years ago. I’ve brought lots of friends here to have sushi for the first time and they’ve all loved it. The food is excellent, fresh and the service is always great. The most noteworthy aspect of Ichiban is that all their locations share the same standards of quality, no... More

A desperate attempt at creating original rolls. "Would you like some fish with your rice and mayo?" Over sauced, over riced and way over priced. Occasionally, if you order safe, like a bento box with teriyaki chicken or california rolls, miso soup and white rice, you may leave feeling you weren't just taken advantage of. I lived in San jose... More

If you are looking for rice heavy small rolls you are in luck. The prices are vey high and do not reflect the produced served. The spicy soy beans were good and the sauce gave the rice coated sushi some flavor .

Awful restaurant. Quite expensive and food quality correspond to an extremely cheap reataurant. We ordered some "freid Gyozas", and they were all soft and full of oil, it means they cooked on low temperature and it's flavor was of dirty oil (eventhough, the waitress told us to ask them fried because the other one wasn't so good and can open.......
