This restaurant was recommended by a seasoned Costa Rican traveler. We ordered the Costa Rican dishes and liked them all. the topper on the meal was the ice cream "salad" which was also recommended. Great homemade fruit infused ice cream. Great local restaurant

You can eat very fresh tropical fruits and delicious ice cream. Also they have very good coffee (maybe the best in town). They also offer lunch and breakfast, everything typical simple Costa Rican food. I enjoyed it very much. It is open and fresh.

Always came here and it's awesome the food but today it was all backwards. They took too long to bring us the order. And it disappointed me for the 1st time. The chicken rice wasn't chicken rice and the order was incomplete.

So...we were looking for a quick bite to eat in San Jose and decided on Soda Tapia based on the fact that it is always crowded. We tried the "El gordo," atun, the hamburger and another sandwich. The fries were good, American style fries. :) The hamburger was HUGE. Big enough for two people. However the hamburger was very dry.... More

This is a fast food restaurant, the menu is not big and it has barely change in several years. I have to say that there re a couple of options in the menu that I really like (the "gordo" chicken sandwich, the "arreglados") but the rest is almost the same as if you go to a regular soda. They try... More

Is a great place to have a great meal at anytime of the day. I went with my friends and family, is always delicious. The only thing that I would change is that the Soda Tapia that is in Lindora be the same cowsy place as the original one that is in SJ downtown. The price is ok for the... More

I live relatively near to Soda Tapia on La Sabana; consequently I was a frequent customer in the past. This is a late hour, sit-down, non alcoholic local restaurant. I no longer visit this chain because it has gone from bad to worse. You’ll often see the place crowded on weekends, well, that’s because people who visit the nearby park... More

Overall, Soda Tapia is like a glorified SODA, (local eatery) you shouldn't expect much when you go there. Try to stay away from Steak sandwich, mine came out of the sandwich with the first bite, was absolutely hard to bite off and had to cut it with knife. Service is relatively OK. They come to you quickly and never come... More

The arreglados are terrific, and so are the casados! A bit noise but it's great for people watching.
