the building is fantastic with gardens, balconies and different areas where to eat. Great decoration and atmosphere in this old colonial mansion. Very popular and busy restaurant (at least for lunch) with locals. Unfortunately food was just regular. Still I recommend it for its atmosphere.

The food is only mediocre and not worth the ridiculously long wait. Not worth the money either. Go somewhere else where your business is appreciated and the food is good.

Located in a stately house in Barrio Amun, it was like returning to an old friend. I like to stop whenever I'm in San Jose. Fresh breads with infused olive oil arrive shortly after one is seated. The olive bread remains my favorite but the others are also delicious. Nice selection of appetizers, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches & entrees. There are... More

We stopped by for a drink after dinner at Otoya. Nice garden and a nice atmosphere. We recommend eating next door and going here afterwards :)

In two trips to San José, this is easily my favorite restaurant. If you want great Argentinian steak, there is a place for that but it is not Café Mundo. If you're looking for delicious food (mainly several pasta dishes, but also other menu choices), a very comfortable setting, and value, then this is the place. My dinners when I... More

Excellent food at excellent prices. No sign out front, you will need the taxi to take you to the front steps. Best hidden treasure restaurant in Costa Rica. Open for lunch and dinner. Great outdoor dining as well. Romantic? Oh yeah!

The location is great. The renovated home is lovely. This used to be a great place for lunch or dinner with an interesting menu. The daily lunch special was always good. This has not been the case for the last few years as the owners are clearly far more interested in a late night bar crowd. They have expanded and... More

The food and ambiance are both top drawer. Located in a delightfully old area of San Jose, the buzz, and vitality shine through here. Food is excellent and innovative. Several visits are needed to explore the menu. A fine wine and dine all the time.
