The food here is over-the-top delicious. The staff are professional and friendly. The atmosphere is cheerful and celebratory. The service is timely but not rushed.

I known this restaurant for 5 years and it has been one of the best things that ever happened to me. Since I was in italian classes in the same building I get to know most of the menu. Agnolotti Mezza Luna are one of the best pasta dishes, the sauce is spectacular!!! The Nutella crepe is a must as... More

I eat here several times a month. I have never had a bad meal here in 8 years under the ownership of Tony or Marco. Having the owner/operator in the kitchen makes all the difference. I don't think I have looked at a menu in 5 years, They will make you anything you want. The staff has been there forever.... More

I just visited this restaurant a few days ago and I must say I did not like it at all. The food was really spicy and definitely not Italian, not even close. I ordered a pesto plate to start, the portion was small and had a few pieces of Costa Rican salami and nothing else. no mozzarella, no prosciutto, Italian... More

The food was very good and the restaurant is very quaint. The service is fast, but not friendly, so don´t sweat it, just enjoy the wonderful food.

The atmosphere is old Italy and the handmade pasta is a melt in the mouth favorite. The sea bass is great as is the fettuccine and the spaghetti carbonara. A great value with pleasant staff and nice surroundings.

This restaurant continues to give the excellent service the past owner taught the clientelle and personnell that should be given at a restaurant. Toni was the owner and he was there personally preparing the food to be served, He had a restaurant sold it and went to Italy, but evidently he had become used to Costa Rica and returned to... More

During our 2011 visit to San Jose we got a recommendation from the tour desk in our hotel for Il Ritorno. We dined there a few times and were so impressed that we returned in January 2013. Each visit required a 15 minutes taxi from our downtown San Jose’s hotel to Casa Italia in San Pedro, but it was worth... More
