Tasty, affordable asian place. A little over crowed at noon. Ask for the iron-dish fried rice, great value.

It was pretty bad Chinese food with the vegetables in all the dishes being under-cooked. The price was fairly reasonable for the amount you received. I got the combination platter for two (I was there by myself) and ate half leaving half for the following day. I had hoped for a lot better experience since I kept seeing cars and... More

The restaurant was full shortly after we arrived and got our table for dinner. Our family has many varied desires and tastes when it comes to restaurants and Flor de Loto created very different opinions among the family. Some liked the more unusual offerings, the vegetarian was not pleased with the limited options if soy was avoided, the vegan found... More

My husband and I ate at La Flor de Loto on a recent visit to San Jose as it was near our hotel. The food was okay, with a mix of Americanized and more authentic dishes. Bread and margarine on the the table, and not a chopstick in sight....My husband had sauteed octopus with black bean sauce, which was tender... More

Chinese food is NOT the same around the world. But the food here was good and it was plentiful. (Thankfully we could bring the leftovers to the hotel) Unusual that bread and butter were served and also unusual (but a great idea) that you were given lemon juice, instead of lemons that may have been touched with unclean hands, to... This small restaurant serves very good dishes; I recommend chop suey and all soups and also seafood; is important to arrive early for lunch (11.30) because at noon is crowded. It's closed at 3 pm and re opens for dinner (more quiet and enjoyable). Easy parking is another advantage.

Problem is, I am used to great Chinese Food growing up in New York City and living in South Florida so finding good Chinese Food in my opinion in Costa Rica has been impossible to say the least. This place is average but try the fried stuff, which is always good but of course bad for your health. I had... More

Flor de Loto is one of my favorite places to eat in San Jose. From the great service to the superb food, it is on my list of highly recommended restaurants. The options in the menu are numerous, you will always be wondering what to order as the variety is great. I recommend the "Cena de Ciruelas" dish, which has... More

We ordered tofu soup, mango chicken, fried rice and 2 bottled waters. Our bill was $32! The mango chicken was fried chicken strips served separate with a pureed mango sauce. The rice didn't come with it and we had to order it separate. No vegetables were served with the chicken or the rice. We expected something a bit more with... More
