This is really special. Beautiful table in an opulently cluttered colonial courtyard with a central garden. Everywhere you look, there's something amazing to see. Service: unobtrusively attentive, the best I have experienced in CR. Good wine, fairly priced. We were a group of 7, and we shared 2 or 3 portions of each dish. But each of us started with... More

Ohhhh what a delight! For us foodies, this a great choice. I love the simplicity and variety of the menu. The portions are great even though they would explain to you that portions are smaller now so you get to try many dishes, but I considered the portions to be very satisfying. I would say, order 2 dishes each and... More

Yesterday I was taken out for an unforgettable birthday dinner by my husband. He whisked me away from the house and our two little children and into a magical place full of beautiful antiques and astonishing flavours called Park Cafe. Having visited the restaurant some five weeks earlier we have all got to hear about how amazing the restaurant is... More

We were a group of five and all wanted to taste everything on the menu. Louise accommodated us by bringing two plates(tapas size) of nine different menu items that she selected. At one point someone in our party commented that the chef was just showing off. Richard is one of those chefs you see on tv that has amazing creativity... More

Don't go if you want a big plate of meat and potatoes. Don't go if you think that presentation is a waste of time. Don't go if you have a limited palette and won't try new things. Don't go if you don't understand truly gourmet food. This is the best restaurant in Costa Rica by a long measure, the chef... More

. . . and all of us were blown away by the experience that Louise and Richard put on for us that night. After 12 years in Costa Rica this dinner ranks at the top - in all respects. A new standard which will have us going back soon to try and taste some more of Richard's ideas and try... More

Amazing food. Creative compositions and an incredible atmosphere make you understand why you can have a table booking in advance only.

Park Cafe, whose name is as understated as its cuisine, delivers beautifully crafted dishes in a lovely setting near the heart of San Jose. If you're touring the area be aware that despite its name and minimal price listed as $10, this is a high-end restaurant for upscale diners and clientele. This place sort of took us by surprise. We... More

Located on the side & center of a unusual antique store (owned by his girlfriend) the food, presentation, service and ambience were shockingly fabulous. The 3 small plates were certainly plenty to satiate my appetite and topped it off with a terrific dessert. And the wine and after dinner drink also added to the perfection. I'll definitely be back on... More

From time to time, I like to go to a fine quality restaurant. I am prepared to spend some money, but always have trepidations about spending a lot and being disappointed. Well, this is one place that was well worth the cost. First of all, the atmosphere is unique. It is set within an antique store owned by the chefs... More
