Both our meals were a disappointment. It appears that someone read a French cookbook, but did not follow the preparation details. The coq a vin was overdone and not flavorful.

Nice interior design, ok service. The drinks ok for the price.Soups were the only good dishes(gazpacho and carrot soup with bits of oranges and anis spice, which was very sweet and could pass for a dessert), but the salad and a main dish were a big disappointment. Dry overcooked chicken breast with really bland and uninteresting mashed potatoes and sauteed... More

Great area with a terrace and outside seating, the restaurant offers a nice menu, great bar also if you just want to relax with a late night drink. Restaurant is inside a very trendy area with shops.

When you go to avenida escazu you expect to pay highest in the country prices for a special meal. This place surprised us with the food quality, but also with reasonable prices and very chic ambience. Try their fish provencale style - delicious

We ate at L'ile de France this past weekend for our anniversary. We cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was outstanding. I had the french onion soup and beef bourguignon. They both were amazing!!! My husband had the escargot and the duck. He said it was one of the best meals he has every had, and... More

I ate here numerous times while spending a week in San Jose, Costa Rica on business. The service was professional, but not overly friendly. The food was tasty. My favourite meal was the duck in orange sauce. Delicious. I can't remember what it was titled, but it's duck in orange. The fish was also okay. The beer menu is not... More

Extensive authentic menu, top notch food & wine coupled with attentive service but as with every restaurant in this upscale part of town, paying the bill takes the edge off the evening. (Just assume whatever you order the 'real' price will be 25% more thanks to the obligatory 10% service charge & the 14% government tax always added). They offer... More
