We ate at L'ile de France this past weekend for our anniversary. We cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was outstanding. I had the french onion soup and beef bourguignon. They both were amazing!!! My husband had the escargot and the duck. He said it was one of the best meals he has every had, and... More

I ate here numerous times while spending a week in San Jose, Costa Rica on business. The service was professional, but not overly friendly. The food was tasty. My favourite meal was the duck in orange sauce. Delicious. I can't remember what it was titled, but it's duck in orange. The fish was also okay. The beer menu is not... More

Extensive authentic menu, top notch food & wine coupled with attentive service but as with every restaurant in this upscale part of town, paying the bill takes the edge off the evening. (Just assume whatever you order the 'real' price will be 25% more thanks to the obligatory 10% service charge & the 14% government tax always added). They offer... More

So, we decided to give a try and we did not get disappointed. A friend told us to try the Onion soup, and you know what, it is really, really great, the... More

So I tried really hard not to look at the prices. Beautiful interior, friendly professional service, good French food, wetter than average wine selection for CR and all around great relaxing place for a nice dinner. Would be or could be a romantic setting. Free parking at the end of the drive, if there are any spaces left. Can get... More

This is the second year in a row that my husband took me to this fabulous French Restaurant in Avenida Escazu for my Birthday. It was indeed special this year since it was to celebrate my last year in the 70's - having turned 79 years on December 29th. Since French cusine is my very favorite - he knows on... More

Classic menu with all the French favourites. Had the Steak poivre and a house salad. Both very good. Beautiful room ,large open kitchen and pretty small private dining room. Very busy on my visit. Portions very large almost shareable. Prices fair with the portion sizes. Would recommend
