Great place to dive in and sit for a spell

We were sweaty and looking for wifi, (for hubby's work), and dove in. We had a couple of pretty good cocktails and an excellent ceviche. The service was good, and the atmosphere was very laid back, with a great breeze to help us out!

The drinks were incredible. The food was ok. Tried the happy hour friends & cheese & couldn't believe the use that liquid cheese stuff. So gross. The coffee drink with alcohol & vodka was delectable!

We looked so forward to eating here. We had read about it and a friend who once lived here told us to be sure to go. As we walked across the street from the car a sewage smell was very noticeable. We continued on and entered the restaurant and sat. Thinking that it was a temporary occurrence or we'd get... More

Walked in off the street with no idea of what to expect, no referrals, nor reviews read and we were very pleasantly surprised. The fish was very fresh, drinks cold, prices reasonable and the service provided by Carlos was superb! Carlos can fill you in on how he learned English so well! Thank you El Gran Escape!

Our restaurant, "El Gran Escape" is in its original place for 35 years , on the boulevard in Quepos across from the sea wall. Come for your Margaritas I hope you will visit us soon. More

From other reviews I got the impression El Gran Escape was gone and replaced by the Runaway. NOT true as we ate in the original restaurant last night and it was delicious. The cevich and sashimi were wonderful appetizers. Very fresh and flavorful. Our grouper was great and the side veggies cooked and seasoned just right. Husband had lots of... More

Very nice view of the harbor and the ocean, specially during summer nice place to cool down. Sadly my Margarita was not how I used remember, salty guacamole, curry chicken was not as savory as before, but my tuna burger save the day. I will come back to check if my old favorites in the menu are still the same... More

It is of the few restaurants located in the more local oriented town of Quepos. They serve delicious burgers ( huge ) and extra fresh Sushi ( Yellowfin Tuna )

This popular restaurant has moved to the beautiful new Marina a short distance away and even has a new name. However it remains a top restaurant with excellent food and a location with beautiful water views. Excellent seafood but everything seems good.
