Caught by the catch

You would not give a dime for this road-side place ready to seduce new comming tourists by its location. We had heard this was THE PLACE to go in Quepos, but unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We got there, ordered our drinks, and our drinks took about 15 minutes to come out (both bottled beverages). Then, we ordered our food, and after about 15 minutes, my salad came out, but they didn't bring my husband's sandwich... More

Really fresh fish, kind people and friendly, reasonable prices according to food quality. They know about the food they serve and they give suggestions about how to make it better! Recommended!

My husband and I loved the Red snapper and the Mojito. First time trying each and the freshness and flavor hit the spot very well. Nice open air casual restaurant;definitely would return without hesitation.

Good food, cold beer, laid back. I've read some of the bad reviews and I'm not sure where these people think they aren't! This is the beach in Costa Rica, not the Four Seasons in Midtown Manhattan. Just rest and enjoy yourself, where are you in a hurry to get to?

A FEW TIPS: 1) Eat here on Friday night or Saturday for Lunch after hitting the local farmer's market which is just across the street and down 100 yards. 2) There's a good ice cream joint called POPs a few doors down. Head there for dessert after eating at Gran Escape. El Gran Escape is located in a great spot... More

Food was fairly inexpensive, and pretty good. Nice location. We got Mr. Tuna salad and fish, both well prepared. Wait was reasonable and staff was attentive without being overbearing.

Great comfort food. Plenty of it and prepared to perfection. Wide variety of types of food on the menu, with even a traditional Thanksgiving Meal served during the holiday, with all the trimmings. The manager, Marsha, is always on the premisses making sure everyone is a happy camper, and the bar is the best in town. The view of the... More

So, I read all of the reviews on line and found the menu. ON that menu, there were coconut shrimp and other seafood options listed. We decided to eat here....were told if we wanted food, we had to go to the dining room. Then, we couldn't get the happy hour prices because we were in the dining room? Strange! So,... More
