Once a great spot to have your fish cooked for you as well as Coffee in the morning, but it is now being torn down and rebuilt. When it will reopen I don't know.

Wife and I went here for sea food. Staff were very nice, location on the Marina was nice, breeze was perfect! Food was OK. Wife loved the fish tacos (I tasted it, was good). I had the 'catch of the day', a Grouper filet. Nice size, fresh filet of Grouper was made with too much garlic (that burned on it)... More

If real madrid is playing against barcelona, you mute let it go and put the match. Not act confuse of why someone is asking you that. Also horrible cocktails, not natural lemon.

For over ten years now, I have been visiting Quepos but never spent much time at El Gran Escape. Last year, I starting making it a daily routine to visit The Runaway Grill bar during sunset. Great place, wonderful staff, and fish stories that no one should believe. The bars' best asset is still Marsha Bennett. I will be back... More

Having been to El Gran Escape a few years back, we were looking forward to a return visit. The name has changed (The Runaway Grill) and they've moved from right downtown to over at the new marina - Pez Bela. You'll see signs for restaurants and shopping and a security guard - head in there and you'll find it on... More

It seems like I wind up here most every day. It's in one of two new 3-story buildings recently constructed on the beautiful Marina Pez Vela. The owner, Marsha, throws a big Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings. Great happy hour with snacks. The waiters & waitresses are efficient & really friendly. They have great hamburgers & seafood. I haven't... More

El Gran Escape has been an icon in Quepos since 1981. But you won't find them in their old location if you've been there before. They've moved to the new Marina Pez Vela and changed their name to the Runaway Grill. Marsha Bennett is still managing it. I was just there for lunch celebrating a friend's birthday. The seafood chowder,... More

After a long day of enjoying the beautiful beaches of Manuel Antonio... a great well deserved seafood feast. The whole fish snapper was a treat. GO!

Rated well and in a new development at the marina - we were hopeful. Unfortunately service was not attentive and food was at best "OK". One of our few dining disappointments in CR.

Top quality seafood while overlooking a very nice marina, relaxing open air with friendly staff; This is a must when visiting Quepos or manual Antonio costa Rica
