My husband and I were in Montezuma for four days and went to the Bakery Cafe several times. The food was wonderful. There were several vegan options on the menu. The Gallo Pinto was delicious. And Jesus was a wonderful waiter!! Very friendly people! The Bakery Cafe was only open in the morning- from 6 or 7AM to maybe 1:00PM

I had a chicken burrito for lunch one day and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did not get a chance to eat there any other time during my trip but I should have! I sat by the mural of the monkeys on the wall.

On a Saturday afternoon we placed the order and then waited and waited until we found out that the cook left the house. The same evening the place was close. Did they reopened?

The food is good too. Reasonably priced, friendly staff. Great place to hide out in the afternoon heat- it's surrounded by trees that shade the patio from the heat. The Urraca birds are good entertainment.

Like most of Costa Rica food is not important - just a way to fill you up and get as much money from you as possible. Like most places it was ok! But so what! A million tourist are right behind you - get out of the way!

We ate at the Bakery Cafe two mornings on our recent trip to Zuma and would have returned for a third had they not been closed on Sundays. We hadn't even gotten 1/4 of the way through our first meal when our kids asked if we could come back the next day. Simple yet delicious food in a cool setting,... More

We had our breakfast here one morning and the pancakes were delicious! Our waitress was very friendly and made us feel very welcome! Would definitely return here again!

I enjoyed my lunch casado very much while I was here, but honestly, watching the monkeys and a local pizote was the highlight. Seriously amazing to view animals so close-up. It was super neat. The owner and his son were very friendly and we enjoyed asking them questions about the visiting animals.

We mostly cooked in our house, but we came here TWICE because the food is so spectacular! Home made Empanadas. Mmmmmm. Perfectly cooked and seasoned Mahi Mahi. They make everything, including their own bread and cookies and cakes. Perfect!

We had to go back here a second time both for the good food and because I didn't have my camera the first time to take photos of all the animals. There were lots of monkeys jumping around in the trees around the cafe plus birds, iguanas and squirrels. The owner was very friendly and we had nice meals both... More
