This is traditional Costa Rican food, arroz con pollo y casados mainly. It is located in downtown Santa Elena and is reasonably priced for Monteverde. You see a lot of local people eating here which is always a good sign.

Right in the middle of town (st elena). Very good! lots of food for a good price! The casados were great (i had steak and the husband had chicken). We also got the chicken strips for our daughter and they were made from scatch. Really good.

Jose guided us and talk to us about the spots... They have great drinks and nice dishes... The portions and presentations were amazing... The place is spotless. But the menu does not include many Costarican diahes, instead it was design for tourist to enjoy the Costarican cuisine without going all the way. Affordable in some sense, but the service was... The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I had the fish with orange sauce, and my traveling companions enjoyed their meals as well. Nice atmosphere too!

Had lunch here while in town. Typical Costa Rican dishes but the food was not exceptionally good or flavorful--more like average. Service was fine. Prices average to high for what you get. Wouldn't go back.

This is an affordable option for dining and people watching in Santa Elena. The sea bass is excellent and the Tico and Mexican dishes are also worth trying.

We came here after a night hike because our hostess said this was the most authentic local food. The waiter was very friendly and even though the casada ("marriage" on one plate of meat, rice and beans, salad, plantains, and cheese) was a lunch item, he insisted we could have it for dinner. Perfect comfort food, not gourmet, but simple,... More

This was the 1st place that we ate in the Monteverde area. The food was just ok (nothing special). For the price, there were better food options in the area.

This restaurant looks a lot fancier than it is. It was a bit intimidating, but the staff was welcoming and accommodating and it really wasn't too fancy at all. The food was decently priced and came in large portions. It all tasted great, as did the fresh pineapple juice. Definitely a good place to go while staying in Santa Elena... More
