Nice time

Outside venue with lots of ceiling fans, pretty neat structure-three levels of seating. The food is all fire cooked and you can watch a blazing fire and cooks working all the food. Live music. Ample parking, way more than the normal restaurant in Costa Rica. The food was good and the service... read more

The room and view was very good and the music was far enough away to entertain but not annoy. Food was reasonably good and quite expensive. Service was medium

Maybe because we were visiting off season, but this huge restaurant was entirely empty the day we visited but also the day before when we drove by. And even with just a few guests, they were able to screw up our orders. I ordered a tuna medium rare and received mine well done (it was the only tuna steak they... More

Hd dinner here with 3 adults and 3 teenagers. Had to send steaks back *three* times because it was undercooked. Came back undercooked all three times. Gave up on sending it back and ate it anyway. The food portions are large but the sauces don't really go with the dishes. The cooked vegetables had way too much salt in them.... More

The Pineapple Chicken Teriyaki was very good! And the Pura Vida drink was tasty! My husband got the Mahi Mahi and it was delicious as well. And the kids meals were very generous portions--the hot dog and quesadillas were fantastic!

We ate at La Cantina twice in 4 days in November 2014. The first recent visit offered fantastic grilled food (ribs and grilled chicken specifically) but lackluster service. The food was so good the on the first visit that we were able to overlook the underwhelming service. However, on our second visit, the service was EXCELLENT and the same food... More

The food we had was not at all bad, but once the main course had been cleared, all the waiting staff disappeared, despite us trying to catch their attention. In the end my husband went to the till to pay; the lady on the till started to serve him, then turned her attention to a waiter. They also tried to... More

This restaurant was directly across the road from the Coast Verde Hotel. Therefore, it was very convenient. The atmosphere was mostly touristy based but pleaseant and the food was very good although a little pricey for the area.

Nice looking place, but the food was at best bland - huge but tasteless slabs of meat or fish (couldn't taste the BBQ) and mounds of veggies, served with (in the case of the fish at least) disgusting sweet sauces that didn't complement anything on the plate. Service was polite but distant; waiter kept drifting off when we were trying... More

as a gringo,I usually associate bar BQ with beef and pork ribs, pulled pork, chicken accompanied with a signature sauce. Here it simply means grilled meats. We had the baby back ribs. Portions were generous yet only one of the ribs was edible......so much fat on the second made it unappetizing to my taste for lean tender meat that falls... More
