We walked out after an hour and half waiting to be served. Extremely slow and worth the bus fee to get there

Stopped to watch the sunset, which was spectacular, and happened to hit their happy hour which was 2 for 1 on selected drinks. Added bonus to the sunset. Enjoyed the great drinks so much ordered a couple of appetizers before moving on. The calamari and ceviche were "dead solid" and a perfect size for 7 of us, albeit, 3 children.... More

Dropped into Raphael's for Happy Hour and got treated to a spectacular sunset over the Pacific from their panoramic patio. Add to that a pub-style menu with something for everyone, prices downright reasonable given what other restaurants are charging, and a friendly, English-speaking staff, what's not to like about Raphael's.

Very friendly staff. Busy but a good sign it was a good place to eat. Raphael was a nice fellow. Hard working staff, excellent view, a definite stop for visitors. Highly recommended.

Wow, what a wonderful place. Owner Raffa runs a true Costa Rican gem. This restaurant sits on a hill overlooking what I think is one of the most awesome views of the coast line. The food is cooked to perfection and the ingredients could not get any fresher. We had the maui maui for lunch and it tasted as if... More

What a great find! We stopped in here one afternoon to have a drink. Our friendly waiter suggested we come back for "Monkey Happy Hour." Apparently some local monkeys got savvy to the fact that the bar has quite a bit of fruit out for mixed drinks during happy hour, so they try to come steal fruit. We were enticed... More

After taking our order, our waiter disappears, never to be seen again. Large parties that arrived after us are receiving their food, we are not. Another waiter comes to clear our appetizer plates and says something about us finishing our meal. We ask him to check on it - he finds it. Is surprised to hear what we say we... More

I enjoyed this restaurant and having the monkeys come right up to our table! Downside was that one person's shrimp was not deveined, but everyone else really enjoyed their meal.
