While staying at Arenas Del Mar, we spent several afternoons lounging at the beach and/or by the pool. Playitas is tucked away in the trees just off the beach and they have seating on the beach and offer chair service. This location allows you to stay in relaxed beach mode and still enjoy excellent food and service. The drinks and... More

We had the opportunity to eat at Playitas and were pleasantly surprised. A casual environment just by the ocean you can literally have lunch with your feet on the sand. I had a Baby Spinach Salad with Bacon and Balsamic dressing it was fresh and balanced between the saltiness of the baking and the sweetness of the dressing, my husband... More

Want to have lunch out on the sandy beach? Playitas at Arenas Del Mar is your place, Eat among the thatched roof pool bar area or out in the sand near the beach. Waitstaff is attentive and happy to bring whatever your heart desires - my favorite The Arenas Coffee Dream!!! This blended mix of espresso, vanilla ice cream, chocolate... More

we had a few hours to kill between a hike at manuel antonio and our night rainmaker park tour. this was just the thing...we drove down the mountain and were greeted by hotel staff. they took us down to the beach/restaurant in golf carts-they were very friendly. for a fee of $70, you got a 3 course meal and one... If you like the feeling of sand between your toes while you eat, this is the place. Part of the Arenas del Mar hotel complex. The food is good but overpriced for what it is. The setting is terrific as you can sit in the shade while the Pacific Ocean thunders just a few away. I had a tuna sandwich... More

Dear David, thank you for your review about your lunch experience at Playitas. We agree with you that the setting just a few meters from the Ocean under Almond and Palm Trees is very special and it is a real privilege to have lunch while feeling the sand between your toes. While we are happy that you enjoyed your food,... More

The best place for a late lunch or dinner. If you feel like having a great meal at the beach this is the place. A little overpriced fir the quality of the food but the setting is a dream spot.

We stayed at Hotel Arenas del Mar all of this past week and had lunch several times at this restaurant. The tables are located under shady trees (bugs weren't a problem at all) and you're treated to a beautiful view of a secluded sandy beach with a mesmerizing view. The waiters are all so friendly and eager to please, and... More

First, let me get logistics out of the way because I expect that many people miss this gem because it is tricky to find. Not far from all the other action in town, just well-hidden. I am no expert at driving in Manuel Antonio, so perhaps management will have better directions as a reply to this review. First, tell Google,... More

Two families of experienced holiday travelers with children from 9-14, a couple finicky foodies, who still respect the value of a dollar were all blown away by the experience. Costa Rica is amazing and this portion of the country is by far the best and the opportunity to have beachfront accommodations in an remote feeling, pure nature environment and still... More
