This restaurant has one of the best ocean and rain forest views ever! We are so glad we went cause some of my best Costa Rica pictures were taken here. Overall a neat place. For those who think the food is expensive it's because your paying for the awesome view and unique experience. That said I think it was worth... More

If you find yourself in Manuel Antonio be sure to pop into El Avion restaurant and bar. The food is very worthy but the view is priceless! The bar is a real plane that has a unique history dating back from the 1980's, you should take some time to read the history. El Avion is part museum, part restaurant and... More

This was a really cool place to eat with an excellent view. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't mind-blowing delicious either. I would say this restaurant is more about the atmosphere than the food.

Purchased in 2000 by the proprietors of the El Avion Restaurant and Bar for $3,000, the plane was disassembled and shipped in pieces to where it currently stands. The fuselage of this old US Plane is where the main bar is. Drinks are cheap and the locals say the food is some of the best. I myself never ate at... More

Despite other reviews, we went here and had a good meal with a great view. We had mostly burgers, and they were very good. The sunset view was nice too. We went right after Costa Rica lost in the world cup - so the wait staff was bummed. However they were still very attentive and prompt.

Went for dinner, open style place, food is plenty and good. The drinks are yummy. Wasnt very busy but we got sitted at the stairs to the bathroom (not cool). Dim lighting. The airplane is a bar inside and you can sit in the cockpit for pictures. Pretty much the thrill to say you went there. Friendly staff and fast.

Service was really good, food was good and the view was outstanding. We were there at our tour guide's recommendation and we were not disappointed.

The service was really good! We couldn't enjoy the view as it was night but at day time it was gorgeous. I ordered shrimps with rice and I loved it! Very tasty and it's a big portion with quite some shrimps in it. My husband ordered the fajitas and he didn't liked it that much. Not a lot of spices.... More

This is the main restaurant associated with Hotel Costa Verde. The dining "room" is open air (as are all the Hotel Costa Verde restaurants), and offers two levels. Come early to view the sunset. Amazing views. The food was very good and was considerably cheaper than we had at another smaller, but comparable, restaurant down the road.

Pros: - Large and unique restaurant (can accommodate large groups) - Fantastic view of mountain and ocean from upper floor - Substantial list of mixed drinks and wine on the menu - Easily accessible off the main road Cons: - Very "touristy" leading to higher prices for average food - Service is moderate (errors on bill, difficult to get refills,...
