Great food, great vibe

Our first night in Costa Rica we ate at this little gem. There was a live musician playing when we walked in, and a very inviting staff, including the owner, to greet us. My wife and I tried some of the speciality cocktails to start, which were so good that I took a picture of the menu to... read more

The sodas in the countryside manage to have updated plumbing, as do the hotels, inns, and b&b's on the highways and byways of Costa Rica -- coast to coast -- so why does this American owner, who charges top dollar to tourists -- ask his patrons to put their feces into trash barrels because he can't afford plumbing?? Disgusting, unsanitary... More

We were told the coffee and breakfast at this cafe is great and we were not disappointed. It is a very charming atmosphere with wonderful home cooked food! They even make their own hot sauce, yum! We bought lots of coffee to bring home for friends. It is a bit pricey but worth it. That prohibited us from eating there... More

Came for lunch and had great entrees, coffee drinks, and tropical juice. Came back for dinner the next day. Super good food. Live music most nights. Make a reservation even on a weekday as it is small and gets full. There was a small wait the night we were there.

We first tried Cafe Milagro for dinner. The dinner menu was very limited, which may cause a problem if you are traveling with even slightly picky eaters. Our dinner were very good, but not great. The service, however, was great. The next morning, we visited for breakfast and the four of us agreed that breakfast at Cafe Milagro is great!... More

We really enjoyed our dinner. I had the fish which was excellent and they had amazing mojitos. The ingredients are fresh and local. My mom had the jerk chicken with fried bananas. It was so good. They had live music and a really nice gift shop.

Food is good, local ale is excellent (IPA). Service was good. I highly recommend asking what the "market price" is for the shrimp dish. With a few shrimp and coconut mango rice, it was over approximately $28 US or 13,000 colones. Good. But way overpriced. The fish of the day was snook at 8,800 colones and it was delicious.

Thank you for your wonderful comments and we are glad you enjoyed it all! The conversion for the market price for our dinner shrimp plate is $24. We source our shrimp via reputable venders who are required to adhere to government guidelines. While it is possible to source black market shrimp and pay less that is not inline with our... More

After hiking a long way up the hill, in the rain, seeing Cafe Milagro was a comforting sight. The restaurant was fairly empty as we were dining quite early for dinner; as such we were luckily seated in the garden area... Even despite the rain, we were covered. Our server Oscar was exceptionally nice! As for the food, oh goodness,... More
