My husband and I just came from a fantastic dinner at Barba Rojas. We began with the small chicken nachos which had plenty of toppings. The portion was quite big and more than enough for two. we then continued our dinner with the catch of the day...tuna. The plate came with rice, mixed vegetables sautéed in an Asian style. The... Barba Roja wasn't a stand-out but I don't think we ate at a restaurant in Costa Rica that we didn't like. The food was good, the service was good, and we were grateful that they made an effort to seat us even though it was a busy night and we didn't have a reservation. There's a nice deck off the... My husband and I who are on honeymoon had dinner here last night and I had the New York strip and he had the rib eye and both were just amazing and he is from South Africa so knows good steak! The filled baked potato was also the best I've ever had. I'm quite snobby about my food so please... More

My review may be a bit biased, as we received 2 free appetizers when we mentioned that our hotel concierge sent us and we already knew the host by name. That being said, the beet salad and nachos were great. They had sword fish on special that night and it was terrific, served on a bed of veggies and Asian... More

I wanted to take my friend who lives and works in Manuel Antonio out for dinner and drinks on my last night and she suggested this restaurant. It was packed with happy laughing people and the staff were terrific. Interesting that my friend picked the place who is a local hotel manager, and other reviewers said was a "gringo place".... More

I thought this restaurant prepared very good meals although not exceptional. The menu was oriented toward seafood and did have a entire section on sushi. I did think that the service was exceptional and all the staff were extremely friendly. In response to some of the other reviews - this restaurant, like most of them along the Manuel Antonio "strip"... More

Service was exceptionally friendly. Happy-hour prices gave us our cheapest meal of the trip, dinner for 4 including drinks at $56 including tip. Food was consistently noteworthy, especially the burgers.

We walked past several times before caving in to the kids and going here for dinner. It has a piratey theme with every table packed with gringo families. I felt kind of silly sitting there. The place is devoid of any local culture....it felt like a themed restaurant at Disney. Aside from this the food was fine, the wait staff... More

Great Happy Hours specials, friendly service, good appetizers at very good prices! We enjoyed watching soccer match and hanging out at the bar for a few hours. So far, best hang out in Manuel Antonio.

Good craft beer selection, which is rare in CR. The view is awesome during daylight hours and the food is very good with large portions, good idea to share because the prices are high. We spent $100 for dinner and drinks one night, but it's like that in Manuel Antonio
