Just in front of a beautiful beach

My boyfriend and I passed here for take a lunch. The service of the owners are too kind but the food could be better. I asked for Caribbean chicken and it was uncooked which is terrible for me. But... except that... the view and eat with sound of the sea is absolutely indescriptible.

I have no idea why this place has such great reviews as our experience was nowhere near what is written below! We had had a big day at the beach and were really hungry and ready for a late lunch. However the food took more than an hour to come out (not that it was full by any means) -... More

Food lovers are constantly searching for that hidden gem; that out-of-the-way establishment that is as much a delight to find as it is a pleasure to dine. We stumbled across one of those nuggets today, in the tiny hamlet of Mal País on Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula. Restaurante Caracolas is a small, eclectic collection of seaside tables sheltered by palm... More

I don't know if it's the best ceviche in Santa Teresa, but it sure is one of the best ! We also tasted their Casado and had Batidos. We stayed a couple of hours on the beach and in one of the hammocks, living la pura vida. We went back the next day for another Batido and to read on... More

This place offers great food along with a beautiful atmosphere. Right on the ocean & plenty of seating options. We came for lunch & had to come back for dinner! The Pescado Rey, ceviche, and casados were our favorite along with delicious margaritas! Would highly recommend this place!

A fellow traveler recommended this place on my last day here. The food is unbelievable and I'm not much of a foodie. It is a mostly outdoor setting next to the beach. Very busy at sunset. The food was great, real native food. and at a good price. Portion size was excellent as well. Very nice friendly service. Trust me... More

I am not a big fan of repeating restaurants when we travel but we loved this place for much that we ate here 3 different times! Twice for dinner and once for lunch. Tables scattered under the trees looking right at the waves. Hammocks and swinging benches littered around. So fun and romantic! The Ceviche is amazing!!! We ordered all... More

We went back so many times. We were staying across the street, thought "let's try this place out" on our first night and went back every day, even if it was just to have a drink. We tried all of the ceviches, had fried yucca twice (it's so good a blue jay stole a piece) and the fish with cilantro... More

The food here is as good as the ocean views. You can take a dip in the ocean before you order your food or while you are waiting for it. Their ceviche is excellent. The casadas also make an inexpensive, delicious meal. Serving sizes are generous and the staff is welcoming. We ate here several times and were never disappointed.

I am a Midwestern girl. Seafood is not my thing. The tropical ceviche and service were as amazing as the beachside table and view. Loved this ....eatery
