Great local food one block from the beach

We found this place using tripadvisor and it was definitely worth stopping here for lunch on our way from Manuel Antonio to San Jose. It's cafeteria style, and you can get a full plate of freshly prepared local food and a drink for 3200 colones.

This place did not disappoint, 1st experience of Tico food and it was awesome. Glad we started our food tour experience at a place where you can point and grab. The selection was plenty and the portions was perfect not to much and not a little. The food was delicious! Definitely would recommend to anyone that visits the beautiful place... More

This place has the best deal on a typical Tico meal. You will find many Soda's but this one is convenient and really reasonable. Your typical plate includes a protein, several sides (always rice and beans but also plantain, squash, french fries, and other seasonal veggies) and a choice of salad. Tea and juice drinks are included for an amazing... More

This place has great Costa Rican food. I've been there twice for breakfast and it is good quality at a great price. You can get rice & beans, eggs, various meats (chorizo, bologna etc), all kinds of fruits, great coffee. All for 3000 colones...about $6

This is a local family owned "diner" that cater to Ticos. The food is excellent, and cheap. The plate of the day, another $5-6, is a genius portion of meat or fish, rice, beans, veggies and salad (you make the selection) and includes a drink. The seafood soup, served on Saturday, contains about a quarter pound of shrimp, squid, octopus... More

After having a wonderful surfing experience in Jaco with Tortuga surf school, we needed some good food as surfing can wear you out! Soda Rustico proved to be worthy of the high praise it receives. For the equivalent of $12.00, my wife and I both had a generous plate of the typical "casado" meal of CR. There was nothing out... More

Absolutely delish!! It is also very affordable and the portions are good sized. It's an open air dining so no a/c but that was fine. The food is very similar to the local food from my country and we loved it.
