The food was OK, but it was quite expensive compared to other places in the area, and I don't think it was worth it (and they automatically added a service fee). The recommended lasagne with palm hearts was disappointing. Try Sunrise Restaurant - their food is reasonably priced and consistently good.

Make a reservatio a sn they ll have the meal prepare for when you arrive. We orderes the coconut chicken and was super nice. On top they gave us 2 slices of cake free for dessert. Its a bit price but like evrything around Tortuguero. The cheapest place is the stool bar/ restaurant on the corner just when you arrive... More

A good opportunity to have well cooked food that is`more than pixxa and hamburger, for those who are bored with rice, beans and fried green bababas. Although you can have this if you want. Very friendly and helpful manager. She even went off to the clinic with a girl who just walked in with an infected hand, to translate.

This place was recommended by our hotel. With great disappointment to us. The food was good (not great), but the service was the worst of our entire trip. Would not recommend this place.

We have ordered a chicken steamed in coconut sauce and a local fish. Both were delicous and came with rice, beans, bananas and salad. The food was much better then the restaurant next door (Miriam´s). We have enjoyed the atmosphere of the out-side part of the restaurant in the shade.

At la Casona we had the most uninspired, blandest meal of all of central America. We didn't even ask for something complicated! We asked for casado with chicken in supposedly coconut sauce, what we got were two mummified pieces of unflavoured chicken leg with dry rice and microwaved beans. And for the "cheap" price of $10 a head! Utterly unimpressed...... More
