A bit of a surprise

In Costa Rica, a lot of the food is very similar. Not here. The food is a bit of a Californian/ caribbean fusion. We thought iit was quite good, but not outstanding.

We stay in Tortuguero for 3 nights and our hotel had the meals included, not romantic at all, not very good... We were looking for a nice place to have dinner at least once and this was the only apparently decent place around... it was a great surprise!!! Great food, great service.

Difficult to find as is located off the beach a short walk past the village centre but there are signposts. Service was fantastic; recommended dishes from the menu and was prompt with drinks/food. Wonderful meal with good portions and good value for money. Definitely worth a visit whilst in Tortuguero.

I'm glad I treated myself after a crazy day in the jungle and beach! I loved the plataine basquets, home made nachos (with coconut!), and hamburgers! Still missing the spicy margaritas and strawberry and passion fruit daiquiri! This is a place where I'd eat every day in Tortuguero. Beautiful and tasty food, warm atmosphere and very friendly owners! Hope to... More

I was in Tortugero for 3 nights, and ate at Wild Ginger twice because I liked it so much! We got the falafel burger, which was totally amazing. The side salad was also incredible, with the ginger carrots and passion fruit dressing. It was so good, that when my friend and I went back the next night, we ordered a... More

Hands down best food in tortuguero. You will pay for it though. Manhattan prices for Manhattan quality food. The atmosphere is really cool as well.

I'm not going to spoil it by describing the food other than super fresh and exceptional flavours. Coupled with super lovely service and gorgeous cocktails. Perfect!

We got there early and a young man was cleaning a freshly caught fish outside. So, of course, knowing the fish was fresh...we had to order it! It was fantastic! Prepared very simply so as to highlight but not overpower the fish. My daughters got appetizers and were very happy with them. The atmosphere was wonderful!

We ate here after the recommendation of our host, Sue at Toucan and Tarpin Lodge. We had a wonderful Mango daiquiri before dinner. My wife had the chicken roulade with apple and bacon while I had the fresh fish. The portions were just right and we ate slowly to savor every bite. Definitely one of the best meals we had... More

Well... I wasn't very impress when I ordered off their menu and ordered the cabernet sauvignon (ok the waitress's English wasn't good, but the menu was in English!) I pointed at it. I got white wine :( so I said vino tinto ? and her response was no. So she left me drinking the white wine anyways. Then I ordered... More
