Great Caribben style at good price

Although a very modest place, Miss Miriam´s serves very good food, specially fresh fish (catch of the day) and excellent "patacones" (fried green plantains). Very nice ladies attending your requests...

My wife and I had both the chicken with Caribbean sauce and we were both a little bit disappointed. This location advertises "with Caribbean flavor", but this is actually what's missing. The sauce and rice did not stand out from any instant product. + fast service + portions big enough to satisfy our hunger - no Caribbean (our any special)... More

The good food for a reasonable price. Don't be scared by the outside look -it's quite Ok inside, and is recomended by the locals.

We enjoyed sitting outside at one of the 2 tables on the front patio. It's on the Futbol field (soccer field) and we caught a local game while we ate. We had the Caribbean Chicken. So yummy! Other dishes we saw looked great too! Wasn't a bad price, 4,500. About average for a dinner around town.

This understated restaurant was recommended by all the local residents we asked. It's located on the edge of the town's football field, so we enjoyed watching a game while we waited for our food. When the food arrived, the servings were immense! Everything was full of wonderful Caribbean spices, and the variety of side dishes added a great deal.

I specifically looked for this restaurant having read about the chicken with rice and beans. I've all but lived on this dish throughout a lot of my trip and I must say this was among the best. Everywhere is quiet right now but the food was still very fresh and tasty. The lady who served us was lovely, certainly worth... More

After reading other customers’ reviews I ask myself if we’re talking about the same restaurant. From the name, its location and the pictures, it’s indeed the same. Named after the deceased lady that owned and ran a tight ship, it’s now an over-rated and run-down establishment, probably one of worst restaurants in Costa Rica. I am not speaking of the... More

My friend and I ate here and were the only ones in the restaurant so we sat outside next to the football field which was very peaceful. We both ordered the carribean chicken which was moist and tasty. It came with a fresh salad, two types of rice (one with beans) and fried plantains (which were especially delicious!). This was... This restaurant definitely had an authentic Caribbean feel to it - the food was quite good. We were there during shoulder season, so were the only people in the restaurant but then again we were some of the few tourists in town. It was the place our hotel sent us when we asked what the best place for "typical" food... More

We ate here twice. We especially liked the chicken cooked in a real caribbean style. The habanero salsa on the table, freshly prepared, was outstanding.
