We stopped by Pita Bonita for an early dinner, and we were blown away by the food. The hummus and shawarma were the BEST I've had outside of Israel. If you're sick of the burgers, pizza and other tourist-centric foods in Puerto Viejo, take a walk or get a can to Pita Bonita. You won't be disappointed.

This place is amazing. From the outside it looks like a little caffe but the food is amazing, best Middle East one I have ever eaten. The falafel is amazing and the hummus even more ( and I do a pretty good one too!;) I suggest this place! It is in a little garden surrounded by trees and while we... More

My husband got Pita Bonita pita at Jungle Love where it was toasted and warmed in the pizza oven and declared it the best pita ever. So we had dinner at Pita Bonita the next night. He then declared it the BEST MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD EVER. Just go there.

This was by far the best dinner we had in our month-long stay in Punta Uva. The day after we ate there the kids were asking to go back...they didn't stop asking the entire time!

The food here is incredible, with recipes straight from Israel. The pitas are made in house and they are the softest pitas I've ever had. The Shawarma is great. Also, try the mint lemonade. Very refreshing.

When we hoofed up the road to the restaurant nearest our cabana, we were not remotely expecting gourmet Middle Eastern food cooked by an Israeli expat. What a wonderful surprise! Pita Bonita offered some of the best humus, falafel, and shwarma I've had, and the pita bread was exquisite. Even the gin and tonics were perfect. A couple weeks later,... More

First of all, best pita bread ever: soft and thick, the bottom is not gonna fall out when you put some yogurt in there. Secondly, really tender lamb. So get the sandwich not the plate, unless of course you don't dig glutens. A very quiet spot, only a few other tables with customers at about 830, nice atmo with the... More

We ate here twice during our short stay at Playa Chiquita. The shwarma and hummus were the best we have ever eaten! The pita are homemade, soft, thick, divine!! The owner is friendly and fun to converse with. This place is a do not miss when you are visiting the Caribbean side of Costa Rica!!
