WOW! I can not say enough about the incredible detail and attention paid to the presentation, flavor and uniqueness of the entrees! The chef is exquisite! Our party of eight arrived to find happy hour 2 for 1 fruity tropical drinks...happy hour all around as we consumed many drinks and ordered virgins for our only minor at the table! We... More

Chile Rojo is by far the best meal we have had on our tour of Central America! If you find yourself in Puerto Viejo, you must find this gem of a place. It is located on the second floor of the building, so take the chance and walk up stairs, you will not regret it. Our server was friendly and... More

We saw that they had an international tapas menu and since I am getting a little tired of all the menus being more or less the same since I started my trip we decided to go. The tapas were obviously all homemade. It was original and delicious. What really ended the night well though was the brownie. It was decadent.... More

Upstairs, above the bustle of Puerto Viejo's main street is Chile Rojo. We went for lunch celebrate my wifes birthday with some small plates and cocktails! The small plates were very good and the cocktails 2 for the price of 1. Can't complain about that!

We visited Chile Rojo both for lunch and dinner while staying in Puerto Viejo, the food is excellent and very authentic. We tried their sushi tapas, where you can get three different tapas dishes, originating different east asian cousines for only approx. 10 USD. Really worth the money spend. Only dislike was the strawberry drink - which still might have... More

Sit up high on the second floor. Relaxed setting and good drinks. I had the sampler plate which was gorgeous. The owner came by to say hello and seemed a nice chap.
