You can't help but return here several times. Comfortable setting, quality food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. The truffles are delicious, the cake is Terrific and the regular food is great as well. Give it a try.

Their breakfast was amazing. Portions were plentiful and the best fruit I had all week. We loved the french press coffee and of course had to leave with a half dozen truffles. Amazing!

What a sweet way to go! One of those places that could easily become a regular spot. We stopped in for hot chocolate and a spicy chocolate espresso. Had to share a slice of the chocolate cake - all too good for words! You chocoholics know what I'm talking about! Sinfully good with smiling and friendly service (even when the... More

This was a nice, atmospheric place with palms and trees growing around wooden structures providing shade and relaxing environment. There was a large lizard trying to get a fly inside a palm tree right next to our heads. The food was decent, nice place to drop by, being popular with all the tourists however, can get crowded.

My friend and I ate breakfast here twice. Large portions and many homemade ingredients, especially the bread and bagels are some of the best I've had in Costa Rica. The waffle and Caribbean pancakes (with banana and coconut) were delicious. Prices are reasonable for the portion size and in line with other restaurants in the area.

I know this sounds insane but seriously order this. It was amazing! The bread, the peanut butter and the jam are all made in house. It was so good. So good!!!

Four of us went to Puerto Viejo to celebrate two birthdays, one of which was my boyfriend's 30th! I read about Bread and Chocolate in my travel guides, and knew it would be a good place to try and procure a vegan birthday cake (I'm vegan, and the bf avoids eggs and dairy), as well as enjoy a good meal.... We had lunch at Bread and Chocolate. I had a ice tea and mixed it with a ginger lemonade, it was refreshing. The sandwich I ordered was a turkey BLT with a green salad on the side. Ithe food was vey tasty. I would totally go eat there again.

After expending a week in the area we finally found the Best Breakfast place in town. I ordered the hot chocolate and ask for bread to accompany my drink and was the best ever. Remind me when I was a little kid having breakfast to go to school. The secret is the original recipe, all fresh made in town. The... More
