So yummy!

We went here for breakfast repeatedly while we were in Puerto Viejo. Everything is fresh made, and delicious. It is very busy, however, so there is sometimes a wait. Well worth it, though. Nice atmosphere, with a friendly green iguana that hang out in the trees next to the dining area.

In an eclectic beach town like Puerto Viejo, visited by many, many health food, bean sprout, raw curd eating types this place stands out for being delightfully decadent! We came for the waffles. They came quickly. They were big and fat and fluffy and delicious. Topped with whipped butter and strawberry preserves the two large waffles for about seven dollars... More

We're the type of family that orders different dishes and eats off each others plates...so glad we did at Bread and Chocolate as we were able try the waffles, potatoes with jerk sauce, the breakfast sandwich, muffins, and banana coconut pancakes. Each dish was great, but the banana coconut pancakes were fabulous!!! The serve the pancakes with a huge bottle... More

This place is a little pricey, but the food is delicious and the restaurant is friendly. My husband had the Caribbean pancakes. They were really good, but the portion was small (3 thin pancakes) for around 7 USD. I had the creamy scrambled eggs with potatoes an a biscuit for around the same price. I didn't feel like the two... More

Love it here! I've been to Puerto Viejo nine times now and Bread & Chocolate is always a must. I stop in a least twice a visit. Don't miss the amazing breakfast and iced coffees.

We went here for breakfast. I had a bagel with eggs, cheese and bacon, while my boyfriend had the pancakes. Both delicious! Recommend visiting this place during your stay!:)

My boyfriend and I came here twice in our stay but ended up eating four meals here - we kept ordering things to go so we could try more things later when we got hungry! The grilled cheese with bacon is probably the best grilled cheese I've had in my life. Their homemade bread and bagels are delicious. They have... More

The owner Tom is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He has lived here very long and is knowledgeable about almost any question you would want to ask him about Puerto. The food is also amazing. He has great breakfast but let me brag about his chocolate!!! The name says it all.
